Chapter 26

Iris POV

Four Months Later

It was like a dream. Getting married to the love of my life and being pregnant with our child.

After the wedding Sophie, Mary, and Martin left back to California. The penthouse was ours again as Xavier and I started making a nursery for our baby.

"Are you ready to go?" Asked Xavier coming into our room. I nodded as I rubbed my belly. It definitely got bigger and I was showing. He took my hand as we left the penthouse.

"Lay down here Mrs. Queen," gestured Dr. Patel.

Xavier made me go to the hospital twice every month. He was becoming too over protective. Xavier chuckled as the doctor looked at him confused. "Mrs. Queen," he whispered almost to himself. I rolled my eyes as I got onto the bed.

He has been going on this for the past four months since we got married. I was already used to being called Mrs. Queen but Xavier was still processing it every time. He said he had never been attached to someone this much and it seemed like a dream in which I felt the same.

I laid down as she applied the cold gel and went in circular motions with the wand. "Your baby is perfectly fine in health and body growth." I nodded as she pointed towards the monitor, "There's your baby." Xavier and I smiled as he took my hand in his. The baby's head was on display as we saw the face.

"Would you like to know the sex?" Asked Dr. Patel. I shook my head as Xavier gave me an 'Are you sure?' look. I nodded at him as he smiled back looking like he didn't want to question further on.

I don't want to know the gender of our baby yet because it would ruin the whole surprise of it.

Dr. Patel exited the room after telling me a few basic things as to what to eat and do during pregnancy. We left the hospital and I was feeling hungry so I told Xavier to go to McDonalds. I have been craving lots of it but mostly the Ice-cream.

After eating we left back to the penthouse. I was feeling tired as Xavier left me in the living room to sleep. Ever since my pregnancy I was feeling more and more tired as time went by and Dr. Patel assured us that it was perfectly normal. I watched a show and slowly drifted off to sleep.

After some time I woke up rubbing my eyes. I took in the light coming out from the windows. It's already day?

I got up carefully and walked towards the nearest bathroom to do the necessities. Afterwards I started making breakfast waiting for Xavier to come downstairs. I'm sure he'll wake up soon due to the smell of my cooking.

After finishing up making breakfast, I saw no sign of Xavier or anyone inside the penthouse so I went upstairs to check. I felt some cramps as I stopped and slowly took deep breaths in and out to calm them down. I went inside our bedroom only to find it empty.

Where is he? What happened?

I searched around the whole penthouse including the secret staircase only to find it empty. I called Xavier but it only lead to voicemail.

What the fuck. It's as if I woke up in another dimension. I shook my head to clear my weird thoughts. I have definitely been watching way to many T.V shows lately.

I got out of the penthouse only to find guards surrounding every corner. I furrowed my eyebrows and went up to one of them to ask what the fuck is happening. "Excuse me what is all this and where is my damn husband!?"

He only stared ahead with a cold expression and replied after awhile, "Mr. Queen is attending some business. He requires you to stay inside the penthouse." I rolled my eyes and tried to get more answers but the guard stared straight ahead not even acknowledging me. I gave up and decided to go inside and eat.

Being pregnant and hangry isn't helping me from all this.

I quickly finished up breakfast and went to get the keys for the car. If no one was going to tell me about Xavier I will find out. After getting the keys I walked outside to see the same guard looking at me confused. I rolled my eyes and walked near Xavier's BMW. The guard quickly caught onto what I was doing and ran towards me.

I speed walked and being pregnant wasn't helping. Once I reached the car I realized the guard had stopped following me. I sighed and unlocked the car and got in. I looked outside only to see the guard nodding his head towards another guard and getting back into position.

After a few minutes I arrived at Queen Incorporations only to see Carley with a huge grin on her face. I ignored her and rolled my eyes as I walked in and spotted Xavier's secretary, or at least I think she is.

"Excuse me, do you know where Mr. Queen is?" I asked quickly. She turned around and widened her eyes and hesitantly nodded.

I furrowed my eyebrows as she lead the way. Once we arrived in front of his office she spoke, "Mr. Queen is inside. If you need anything please feel free to contact me." I nodded and she quickly left. What is up with everyone today?

Instead of knocking I quickly opened the door not knowing what I will see would break me into pieces.
