Iris POV

Right after I got out of my fathers house, I called an Uber. I didn't want to use the car that my father got for me on my fifteenth birthday because it didn't feel right. It was mine but I decided to just call an Uber. I also didn't know where the keys were to my car.

The Uber arrived surprisingly early as the guy helped me put in my suitcases. I told him to take me to a nearby cafe. I didn't have anywhere else to go so I decided to go there for a start.

Hopefully by now they haven't noticed that I wasn't there but I knew at this point they probably put two and two together. And if not yet, sooner or later they will find out. Let's hope I execute this well.

I arrived at the small cafe, thanked the guy and paid him. It was warm and cozy which gave off a feeling of home. Why had I not come here before?

There was a couple and a family inside. I smiled as I saw everyone having a good time. The receptionist greeted me and showed me my table. I thanked her and told her my order. I ordered a small Frappuccino. There wasn't much money left on me so I decided to go small. As I was waiting for my order I thought about where to go next.

I could go to Alivia's house, but I don't want to put a burden on her. She also doesn't know what's going on anyways. Mathew was still in town but he would go crazy hearing the news and would never let me go. He would go into overprotective mode. I sighed and slouched back into the comfortable seat.

The woman came back with my Frappuccino and I thanked her and took a sip. It felt nice to just sit here in bliss not knowing what would happen next. But I knew I had to get my ass up and do something about this situation.

Maybe I could go back to Xavier?

No.

After this he would probably cage me in the penthouse and never let me go until we got married.

The thought made me want to puke. How could I marry a man who I've only known for one week? I won't lie, I've developed feelings for Xavier but I don't want to marry him and then just get a divorce.

It would only benefit him, not me. He's done this plenty of times with other woman. Use them, then throw them away. Why did I think he wouldn't do this to me?

Speaking of using woman. Wait! I could go to my cousin Marcus! He would let me stay there for a few days to sort things out. I'm sure Xavier doesn't know him and my father doesn't even know my moms side of the family anyways.

I sipped my Frappuccino happily and stood up to leave. I will Uber again to go to Marcus's house and stay with him and Olivia for the time being.

They always supported me during times like these. I've stayed with them once before and I could do that again.

As I was ready to leave the cafe, I saw a purple Lamborghini parked outside that was not hard to miss. My heart rate speeded up as I thought of the possibilities.

Xavier?! What the fuck! How did he find me here? I didn't see anyone inside the car as I quickly threw my Frappuccino cup away and started to pace.

I knew I forgot my suitcases back in the cafe but that didn't matter right now. I need to get away from him. And besides, they would only hold me back even more.

I looked back to see if anyone was following me and ran.

How did he even find me? I'm glad I saw his car before he had the chance to take me back. My thoughts were stopped right when I rammed into someone's hard chest. "I'm so sorry-"

I looked up and saw Xavier smirking right at me.

Fuck. This can't be real. I blinked once again to see if it was actually him. Unfortunately, it was.

I needed to get the fuck out of here. I ran the opposite direction but instead was held back by his arm around my waist. A few seconds later I was pinned against a wall in an empty alley way.

Damnit! This type of stuff only happens in the movies.

My breathing was out of control as I tried to escape his arms. It was no use since he had the bigger advantage. I gave up and looked down in frustration.

"Look at me," he demanded. I still looked down, clenching my jaw up and down. He held me by my jaw tightly as I was forced to look up at him.

His eyes went dark and gloomy. They were always a mystery to me and I can't help but be drawn to them.

I winced as he had a strong grip on my jaw. "I-it hurts," was all I managed to say. My eyes were watering up as he let go. He let out a ragged sigh and looked at me in slight concern.

After that everything went black.

What the fuck?!

Xavier POV

I parked near the cafe. It was small which was nice in case someone decided to report me or something.

I saw her sitting there drinking her coffee. She looked hurt but beautiful. I needed to explain everything to her and tell her it was a misunderstanding. I kept my gaze on her the entire time.

She seemed happy after a while of concentrating on the floor. She was clearly thinking of something. Probably how to get the fuck away from me. She stood up to leave as I quickly ran towards the cafe; unnoticed.

I tried to fit in as much as possible. She froze and her attention was on something before she threw her coffee inside the bin and ran.

She saw my Lamborghini! I didn't have time to switch vehicles so I just took it since it was fast. I sighed as I pinched my nose in frustration. She was running my way which gave me an advantage. I smirked and stood in front of her way. She still didn't notice and kept on looking back while running forward.

Does she really think she could get away from me this easily?

I chuckled as she got closer and landed straight into my hard chest.

"I'm so sorry-" She froze and looked up at me. I missed looking into her caramel brown eyes. She turned around to run away; the other direction.

Wrong choice kitten.

I latched my arms around her waist and pinned her up against the wall in an alley. She resisted and tried to get out of my grip.

Why was she even trying? She stopped resisting in which I inhaled and exhaled. This girl was driving me crazy. Literally.

"Look at me," I demanded.

She refused and still looked down; glaring at the ground.

All of a sudden I felt anger and gripped her jaw tightly for her to look into my eyes. Clearly she was trying to avoid it. Her eyes got glossy as tears were threatening to spill at any moment. My stomach churned in an unusual way and the need to comfort her was strong.

Shit.

"I-it hurts," she whimpered. I quickly loosened my grip realizing what I had done. Fuck.

Her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she fell. Luckily I was holding onto her.

Did she just faint?
