It was hard getting all our schedules to line up to get some time away. When we all had our time set, we had to wait on P'Gun to be approved for vacation time. It was taking a little longer than it should and my impatient won out. I called my father to use his connections to get P'Gun the time he needed.

I wasn't going to tell him that—though I couldn't hide it from Dragon.

On top of everything else, Dragon had been busy fixing up the home Nice had been living in. It was his familial home, the one he grew up in. He thought about selling it but I convinced him not to. In the end, he and P'Eagle and myself managed to talk Mae into moving into it from the home she'd been living in. That home, Dragon and P'Eagle planned on renovating and renting it out. The money they earned would be put aside for Mae in her older years.

Dragon's house was better for Mae anyway--it had a bigger backyard, more space for her to garden and a fantastic back porch for her to read her romance novels.

Plus, she'd be closer to all of us.

It'd had been a busy six months. With Dragon working full steam ahead on his novel, Ya and I building Halo Games and Graphic Designs, P'Earth moving his practice into a new space and Ohm making Junior partner at his father's firm—everyone had been busy.

When we finally had a chance to escape, we took it and ran as far away from the city as we could possibly get. The first day at the beach resort, we all stayed in our respective corners. Dragon and I spent that time making love.

I couldn't seem to keep my hands to myself.

He never complained.

P'Eagle and Ohm were probably doing the same thing while P'Gun shopped and Ya took in some of the spa treatments the resort offered.

On the second day there, we came together and began our vacation together.

The warmth of the waves danced around my ankles. I closed my eyes, lifted my head and inhaled deeply. Three days since we'd arrived at the seaside resort to kind of celebrate our friendships and relationships. It should be a happy time for all of us but I couldn't help noticing something different about Ya. Sure, P'Gun had been spending a lot of time by himself, but Dragon had explained that he was a bit of a lone wolf—raised himself after his father walked out and his mother died and begam a cop out of necessity.

In other words, P'Gun was used to being alone.

Ya, on the other hand, had always been a social butterfly. Whenever we were together, Ya was quiet, strangely so, something that wasn't normal for her.

After breakfast on the third morning, I took Dragon aside and told him to go spend time with P'Gun.

"P'Gun is okay." Dragon pouted, kissing my shoulder. "He likes his solitary."

"I get that. But we're here to spend time together. I don't want him to think I'm stealing you away from him. I actually like the guy."

Dragon growled.

"Don't be possessive." I leaned into his body and wrapped my arms around his back to tap his bum. "I'm just saying, he's a good guy. He never questioned it when you asked for his help when we thought I was in trouble."

Dragon kissed my lips. "Hmm."

"He's your friend." I told Dragon. "He probably misses you. You haven't been spending much time with either him or P'Eagle since we started going out."

Dragon nodded.

"Star!" Ya called.

Her call dragged me from my memory and I turned to see her running toward me from the juice stall with two bottles in her hands. I smiled and accepted the one she offered, and we continued on our walk.
