Chapter 29: Survival

"We need to fix this, or at least control it." I said.

"How? We don't even know what we're dealing with." Sean said. "Then let's hope it doesn't happen again."

"You can't control it." Pazuzu said out of John body again. "You can only try to get the dark side of you to team up." "How do I do that?" I asked. "Beats me. John was able to do it because we shared our anger and turn it into power." Pazuzu said. John took control over his body.

"Max, get your binding chains ready." I said. "What chains?" Max said. "The chains you used when we fought Clockwork." "Oh right." Max said.

Max chained me to the bench and we waited for the swap to happen. As expected, the sharp feeling came and I started to swap with my dark side. "Get... Jade... out of... here!" I said in pain. Sean and Kathy take Jade back to the house, safe.

I turn into my demon form and completely swapped with my dark side.

"Get these chains of me!" I said. "No, we can't trust you after what you did back with Jackal." Max said. "And don't try anything stupid or the chains will crush you."

"Max, chill out. Chris is still in there." Luke said.

"Oh look at you, you've changed since our last meeting." I said. "So what, I'm strong enough to handle you." Luke said with confidence. "No you're not. In fact, I can take each one of you on a fight right no-" I said. Tom punches me to shut me up.

"Shut it, you may be strong, but you're not gonna do anything to any one of us, not even Jade." Tom said. "Jade?" I said. I swap back and turn back to normal.

"Where's Jade?" I asked. "She's back at the house." Krystal said. "Oh thank God." I said in relief. "I think bringing up Jade brings you back." Tom said.

"Incoming!" John said.

We look towards John pointing at Azora coming in. "Get the chains off of me!" I said. "No, we don't know if you'll go insane again." Max said.

Azora crashes down, walking towards us. "Lay one finger on him and I'll kill yo-" Krystal said. Azora lifts her up with magic and throws her across the park. "Krystal!!" John said. "You fucking bastard!" John said as he switched with Pazuzu.

"You just don't give up, don't you?" Pazuzu said. "I'm not here for you, Pazuzu." Azora said. "Eh?" Pazuzu said confused.

"I'm here for him." Azora said as she pointed at me. "Why me?" I asked. "Because you have the power we need to restore good and evil forces. If us angels terminate you, balance will be restored." Azora answered.

"Get these chains off me!!!" I said. Max realeses the chains and I turn into my demon form. "Try and kill me." I said still in control.

"Very well." Azora said. "You guys stay back, I got this, I think." I said.

I summon my chains and rush towards Azora swinging my chains around. Azora grabs one of my chains and pulls me towards her with great strength.

"Now you will be terminated." Azora said. Before she could finish me, Luke stepped in and tackled Azora down.

"Luke, what are you doing?" I asked. "Helping you." Luke said. "We can use our new strengths on Azora for practice."

Luke immediately lifts Azora by her neck and throws her in the air. His markings showed up and they turned yellow instead of black. We both fly towards Azora and with my chains, I wrapped them around her as they hook into her skin.

"Luke, shoot her with your bow!" I said. "Got it!" Luke said as he aimed at Azora. "Go back to heaven and never come back!" Luke shoots an arrow and instead of a normal arrow, it exploded on impact. I launch Azora back to heavens gate with my chains unhooked from her. Basically I threw her to the sky.

Luke and I crash land with the rest of the group.

"Is she dead?" Pazuzu asked. "No, I just launched her back to heaven. I think." I said. "Idiot, she's gonna come back." "Who cares. I can take her on again." "No you can't." Luke added. "You almost died to her." "Shut up Luke." I said.

"Alright, let's head back." Tom said. We all head back to my place meanwhile Sean, Kathy, and Jade were shocked to see Luke and I defeat an angel.

"What?" I asked. "Nothing." They said synchronized. "Anyways, I'm going to take a nap in my room, don't bother me, order food. I don't care." I said.

I head to my room and realize Jade was following me. "Fine, we can both nap." I said. She blushed and proceeded herself into my room.

20 minutes go by and everything was quiet... a bit too quiet...

"Jade, wake up, somethings wrong." I said. "What is it?" Jade asked. "I don't know, stay here, I'm going to check."

I head to the living room and notice the house was empty. Even Luke was gone. "Where's everyone?" I said to myself.

I find a note on the kitchen counter, it looked like someone rushed on writing it.

"If you want to know where we are, we are at the movie theater. Sorry we didn't tell you but you and Jade looked peaceful sleeping so we didn't bother both of you. Sincerely, Luke." I read to myself. "At least they told me where they went." I said.

I head back to my room seeing Jade asleep. I wake her up and tell her where the rest of the group went. She really didn't care because she just wanted to sleep, just like me.

After a while, we heard someone opening the door. I get up to open it but when I opened the door, I was shocked.

"Peter, what happened to you?" I asked. Peter was covered in his own blood, and was barely able to stand.

"There's no time to explain, the half demons are attacking each other, killing their own kind." Peter said with barely any life left. "Why?" "I don't know, all I have to say is goodluck going up against them." Peter said with his last breath. "Shit, I have to warn the others." I said while tearing.

I text the others to head back so I can tell them what happened. Immediately, I heard Max's teleporting sound outside the door. They barge in, seeing Peter on the ground dead. "What happened?" John asked. "The half demons are killing each other." I said. "Why?" Sam asked.

"I think they're doing it for fun." I said while looking at Luke, knowing why they're actually doing it.

"Why are you looking at Luke when Sam asked you the question?" Max said. "It's nothing." I said nervously.

I was nervous Max would find out about the ritual but I tried to keep it a secret for as long as I could.

"Alright, everyone go back to your homes. Tomorrow is a big day." Tom said. "What's happening tomorrow?" Luke asked. "Since you and Chris already found a new form, we should try it tomorrow aswell." Tom responded. "Ok then good luck."

Everyone heads back home meanwhile Luke helps me burn Peter's body into ashes and putting them in the backyard.

"Ok Luke remember, don't say a word about the ritual, got it?" I said. "Got it." Luke said. "Alright, head to bed, its already late."

We both head to our rooms and fall asleep, hoping nothing happens in the meantime.
