Chapter 20: A Chilly Encounter

"I'll call her." Luke said.

Luke starts dialing Krystal to tell her the news.

"Hey Krystal, I don't know how to explain this but... John is... dead. He sacrificed himself, breaking the vision that Kathy had." Luke said. "What do you mean? He's right here next to me." Krystal said.

Luke and I stared at each other in shock. "Go to video call and prove it." I said. What we saw was shocking.

"Hey guys, what's the problem? You look like you saw a ghost." John said. "How are you alive? I accidentallykilled you. No one can come back from an Eternal Death ability."

I hanged up and was confused.

"How is he alive?" I said. "I don't know but we need to warn the rest." Luke said. We both sprint back to the house.

We burst in the house gasping for air,  luckily we drank water to help us talk.

"Guys, John is somehow alive and he's with Krystal at her place!" I said. "How, you killed him." Tom said. "Exactly, and whatever it is, it's with Krystal and she could be in danger!" I said.

We all grab our stuff and get in our vehicles and start heading over there. It started raining and Max knew something about it.

We all burst in and see Krystal crying. The John that Luke and I saw was his soul still alive. Krystal gets up and punches me back outside.

"Why did you kill him?" Krystal said. I looked at her and she was furious. "It wasn't my fault, he jumped in the way!" I said. "How do I know your not lying?" "Because I was possessed, I didn't have control for my actions! You don't have to believe me, also he wanted you to have this."

I summon Pazuzu's powers and give it to Krystal. Krystal's hair grows red highlights and her eyes turn red, like John's eyes.

"I believe you, he wouldn't have just  handed you his powers." Krystal said calmly but still being upset.

"Chris." Krystal said. "What?" I responded. Krystal walks up to me and forgives me for blaming me in John death, but she punches me with her new abilities.

"Jesus Christ that one hurt." I said. "So what do we do now?" Sam asked. "We wait. Until Max's demon starts making havoc, we track it down, but we need to know what type of demon it is!" I said.

"It's an Elemental Ice demon, and it can make ice clones that are too powerful to kill due to the fact that they are entirely made of ice. It can also summon ice even if there is heat or no water involved." Max said.

"So what you're saying is that this demon has powers to summon ice out of no where? Great one of us is gonna die of frost bite." Luke said.

"You're not wrong." Kathy said. "I had another vision but saw two of us die to this demon." "Who dies?" Sean said.

"Sam... and me." Kathy said.

"That's not going to happen, not to my little sister and cousin." Sean said. "We don't know when it can happen, but it can change to something else." I said. "Yeah, the vision may show us dying but it can change on who dies." Kathy said.

"Well since Max's demon hasn't made anything happen yet, I say we wait until we notice something unusual." Tom said. "Anyways, where's the Chinese Food you two were supposed to bring?" Tom said.

"Oh, about that, we'll go and get it." Luke said. Luke and I rush to get the food we ordered 15 minutes ago.

At the Chinese restaurant....

"Hi, we ordered food about 18 minutes ago, is it still here?" I asked. "Yes, it is still here, and since you are 18 minutes late to pick it up, it will cost $38.43 to go." The receptionist said. "Great." I said while pulling out my wallet.

The receptionist gets our food from the kitchen and the food is still nice and warm.

I pay, Luke grabs the food and we head out. As soon as we walked past a guy in a light blue hoodie, we felt a cold chill, but we shrugged it off.

"Give me one of the bags and we'll race to Krystal's house, first one there gets the loser's sushi." I said. "You're on."

We get ready... then sprint to the house. We ran so fast our colors started to show behind us. Mine sparked pink and Luke's was green. As we ran, we saw the same guy with the light blue hoodie and as soon as we past him, we felt the same chill. We stopped and looked back.

"Luke, go take the food and warn the others. I'll handle him." I said. I give Luke the other bag, turn into my demon form and summon my swords.

"You can't handle me kid, but the names Khan, what's your name?" Khan asked. "The name's Chris. I won't let you find Max." I said. "Too late." Khan lifted one of his hands and shot a beam in the air and caused the weather to get colder, even though it's summer.

"Come on man we're trying to eat and relax." I said. "Does it look like a give a damn?" Khan said.

I sprinted at Khan and targeted for his legs, then his neck. Khan broke my swords and grabbed my throat then drops me to the ground.

"Let... go.. of.. me!" I said while gasping for air. Khan grins as he looks down on me.

"Chris!" Max said.

Khan looks up and immediately rushed away.

"Are you ok?" Max said. "I'm fine, but how is he that strong?" I said. "I don't know, we just noticed the weather change while Luke told us." Max said.

"Let's go back to the house and eat the food while we find out more about Khan." I said. "He told his name, didn't he?" Max asked. "Yeah, but I thought it would've been intimidating."

We all head back to the house and Max started to looked worried. As we arrive, Luke rushes in to grab the sushi and soy sauce.

"Luke!" Everyone said. "What?" Luke said.

We all get what we want to eat and sit while Max explains Khan's abilities.

"Ok, Khan may seem weak with just ice by his side but here's the thing, that's what he want you to think so you can go easy and he can kill you for that. He can create clones made of ice but hard as stone and make any weapon except a gun. His ice defends him from any attack and that's how he's untouchable." Max explained.

"So technically we're fucked, is what your saying." Sam said.

"Not exactly, his weakness are Copy and Power type demons. The copy demons can copy his abilities but not the defense and clone ability. As for the power demons, they can emit super hot fire that can disintegrate atoms and melt Kahn's ice."

"So Sam and Krystal are our hope to defeat him?" Sean said. "Not exactly, remember they can defeat his abilities but not him. That's where Tom and I come in, and since Tom is a Reality demon he can change reality at will with just a blink of an eye. The rest of you can just find a way to help." Max said.

"So we're useless now?" I said. "No, but you four can find a way to attack Khan." Max said.

"Alright we'll wait until he appears again." I said. "Got it." Tom said.
