Chapter 16: The Dark Past

Smoke covers the whole room, nothing is visible until Valkus cleared out the smoke. Once the smoke cleared, Valkus noticed two glowing golden eyes in the dark corner, then she smirked.

"Well, well, well, look who showed up to fight me." Valkus said. "I could kill you right now for kidnapping my cousin." Sam said furiously.

"You could, but you are too weak to kill me, and one more thing, I made some modifications to my self before you came to find me, now I'm the strongest Light Demon ever! Isn't that right boys?" Valkus said. "Yes indeed your highness." One of her henchmen said.

"That's what you think." I said.

"Who dares to mock me?" Valkus said.

"I did, and if you have a problem with that, then I guess we have to fight." I said.

"Well would you look at that, it looks like Sam brought her new boyfriend to help." Valkus said while giggling.

"HEY, I'M NOT HER BOYFRIEND!!! I'M JUST ONE OF HER FRIENDS THAT CAME HERE!!!" I said so angry.

"Oh my, I forgot Sam's boyfriend killed himself because of you, isn't that right Sam." Valkus said while laughing.

"Ok, that's it, I've reached my limit!" Sam said.

Sam leaped towards Valkus but one of the henchmen jumped in front of her.

"Oh no you don't." Max said. Max teleported the henchman in front of him and gave him a dagger through the head. "One down."

Sam sliced the air, making a gust of wind towards Valkus.

Luke, and John grabbed two other henchmen and snapped their neck and the last henchman was killed by Sean crushing his head.

Valkus had no more defense and the wind cut off her hand. "Ooh, that sure did hurt, ow that hurts so much, oh wait I'm a demon I can heal myself, silly me." Valkus said.

"Now let's make your experience with me a bit more better." Valkus said. "Trauma Rewatch!"

Valkus was only able to give illusions to Max, Tom, Luke, and I, so we were trapped in an illusion of our traumas.

Into Tom's illusion...

"Where the hell am I?" Tom said. "This looks like my parents house."

A door slams open and a kid wakes up from a nap on the couch. A dark figure enters the room holding a knife.

"Tom, could you go to your room? It's time for bed." The figure said. "Ok dad." Young Tom said.

"Wait a minute, don't tell me I'm watching that day." Tom said. Tom covers his mouth, trying not to make a sound.

Back to the real world...

"Why is Tom crying? What are you doing to them?" Sam said.

"I'm not doing anything, I just took them back to day they felt broken, lost, and confused... and it looks like they need to find a way out of the illusion."

"You're sick." Sam said. Sam pulls out her sword and charges at Valkus with the rest of the team behind her and Sam's eyes begin to glow golden again.

Into Luke's illusion...

"What the hell happened? Where's everyone?" Luke said.

"Hey that kid has my hairsty... WAIT that's me!
HEY KID, RUN HOME, START RUNNING!!!"

Young Luke looks at Luke as he points behind him. A car pulls up next to young Luke and one of the doors open. Young Luke starts to run towards his house and the car starts to follow him.

Luke starts running after the car and his younger self.

Shit, what do I do? My house is 2 miles away from here, think Luke think.

Back to Sam...

"Flame Uproar." Sam said. A wave of flames rises towards Valkus and behind the flames are Kathy and Sean. Both of them jump kick Valkus right through the door making the wall collapse.

"Help me grab these guys out of here." John said.

They grab us out of there as the room collapsed in front of them. Luckily no one had a scratch.

Into Max's illusion...

"Where am I? Why do I smell fire?" Max said.

Max hears screaming coming out of a house right in front of him. He sees a young Max on the floor crying while the firefighters clear the fire one firefighter says, "Theres two people inside. The building isn't gonna sustain much longer."

"Hey kid, are your parents in there?" Max said to his younger self. "Yes, I want to help them."

"Well guess what, I'm you from the future and if you don't believe me, look at this... we both like dino nuggets." Max makes a fire figure shaped of a dinosaur and young Max feels a little more comfortable.

Max stands up and charges at the building looking for his parents.

"Take care of the kid!" Max said to a firefighter. "Wait, the building is about to collapse, get away from there!" The firefighter said.

As he searches for them, the stairs for the second floor collapse but Max jumps at the top floor just in time.

"We're in the bathroom!!" The father said.
"I'm coming!!" Max yelled.

Back to Sam and the rest...

The flames went away, the smoke cleared, but Valkus was still standing and Sam was exhausted from the uproar.

"How are you still standing?" Sam said.

"Sam sit down, we'll handle the rest." Sean said.

"You really want to know, don't you? Well if you'd listen, you would've heard that I made some modifications to myself with the help of my 'dead' henchmen." Valkus said. "And one more thing Sam.... FLASH!" Valkus points at Sam and blinds her with light for thirty five minutes.

Into Chris's illusion...

"Whoa, where the hell am I?" I said.

I start to see a car speeding after another car and I realize who is being chased.

"No, not this again."

I sprint after the cars speeding into a highway while trying to call her. I dial her number and hopes she answers.

"C'mon pick up...*she picks up* Listen to me and look at your left side mirror."

"Ok... wait is that you running after us?" She asked. "Yes, and I'm going to save you this time..." I hang up and start to think.

"Flame Uproar."

Flames start to rise from the ground and follow the car chasing her.

I leap in the air just above the car. I lifted my leg, then slammed the air, crushing the car like a tin can.

She stops the car then looks at the new me. She collapses on my arms and we both fall to the ground.

"Thank you." She said while we both cried.

"Chris, wake up, this is all an illusion." She said. "But I won't see you anymore."

"It's ok, I will always be with you." "Please don't leave."

"Please don't leave me." The illusion fades away and I'm back to the fight.

"You... will not... live to see... the light of day!" I said while my eyes glowed pink. "Tracking Beam!" I point towards Valkus and fire a plasma beam at her, pushing her farther from us.

"Here Sam, I'll heal your eyes." Max said. "Thanks." Sam said.

"Chris, LOOK OUT!!!" John said.
