Chapter 33: Ambushed All Around

Just as we went inside my house, I felt a familiar presence watching me.

"Alright, so what's really going on?" Max asked. "I already said what's going on! There's nothing else I have to say!" I said, frustrated from his question. "I know you're lying you idiot, I'm a Mind Demon." Max said.

"Fine, this Half Demon told me I was born with an ability but it only activated as soon as I drank the blood of a Half Demon Luke and I fought. I didn't realize because the other demon was a Tracker demon. The one that effected me was the demon we fought with Sean." I said. "Interesting, and who was this demon?" Max said.

"His name was Alexander." I said.

"Alexander!!!" Tom and Sean said surprised. "You both remember who he is?" Max asked. "Nope, no clue." Tom said. "Not a single idea." Sean added.

Max gave them a stare.

"Fine, we both know him because Alexander... 'was' our friend until he became a Half Demon." Sean said.

"WHAT!?!?!?" Everyone said, shocked.

(Note: I know it's a big twist, but I will make the story where it's only about Sean, Tom, and Max.)

"Alexander turned himself into a Half Demon and suddenly left school, not leaving a trace behind. He gave the spell to me and I used it with Max because Sean was a bit nervous, so he backed out of it." Tom said. "I was not nervous! I was just being, responsible." Sean said.

"Wait, I'm confused, why didn't he kill you when the Half Demons are literally killing each other." Sam asked. "I don't really know." I said.

Max attitude changed quick, as if he noticed something was wrong. "We're not alone..." Max said. "What do you mean?" John asked. "Someone, or something is watching us." Max responded.

"Mind Radar!" Max said. He put his hands together, making a symbol, and float from the ground.

"Shit! Everyone, head out the back door and fly as fast as you can!" Max said. "Chris, grab Jade and take her aswell!"

"Wait, why? What's happening?" I asked. "Just do it and don't ask questions!" Max said in a rush.

I grab Jade and head out the back door. We all fly and look behind us, seeing over 20 Half Demons waiting for us.

"Tom, both of us need to give them time while Sean takes them somewhere safe!" Max said. "Got it." Tom said. "Sean, take them somewhere safe!" Tom added.

"Come on, let's go!" Sean said. I look back at Max and Tom, pushing back the Half Demons while almost getting killed.

We arrive in some abandoned apartments, hopefully being empty.

"I'm getting a creepy feeling up my spine." Krystal said. "Oh sorry, that's me." John said. "Stop fooling around, we have to keep quiet, we don't know if someone's in here." Sean said.

"Mind Radar!" Sam said, copying the ability Max used. "We're safe for now, I don't see any demons." "I forgot you can do that..." Luke said.

We all kept our guard up until Max and Tom arrive.

"What time is it?" I asked. "It's 11PM." Sean said. "Two days left..." Luke whispered to me. "Two days left for what?" Sean asked. "For... the Half Demons, their numbers are going down quicker than usual." I responded. "Oh, okay then." Sean said.

We hear loud explosions outside, making the abandoned apartments shake. "One of us should go check if everything is fine." John said. "I'll go and check." Sean said.

Sean walks to the exit and carefully looks out the exit. Immediately, Sean was pushed out of the apartments and we were left alone.

"What do we do?" Luke asked. "Number one, you can shut up, and number two, we need to stay calm." I said. "Sam, check if there's anyone around us." I asked. Sam begins to check our surroundings.

"There's ten demons around us, Max and Tom aren't near us, and Sean is unconscious outside. We're basically surrounded." Sam said. "I'll go and get Sean as fast as I can." John said.

John stood up and peaked out the door. He saw Sean and quickly pulled him inside.

Sam began healing Sean. "Okay, if we're surrounded, the only two things we can do is either stay here or spread out as fast as we can." I said. "Chris, use your blood ability." Luke said. "We cut our fingers, and you get the drops of blood." Luke said. "I'm not doing that." I said.

"Then I got nothing." Luke said. "What if, Luke and Sam combine their abilities. For example, Sam uses the radar ability while Luke uses his Tracker ability and bow." Krystal said.

"Let's try it." Sean said as he got up.

Sam used the ability while Luke summoned his bow and arrows. "There's going to be two the right, four behind, three to the left and one infront from the direction I'm facing." Sam said. Luke's eyes glowed green and stepped outside.

He shot all ten demons in the same order Sam told him they were at. "Nice work Luke." Sean said as we all stepped out of the apartments. "Now where are Max and Tom?" John said.

"Is that... oh no." Sean said. "Follow me." Sean ran towards what he saw. We followed.

It was Max and Tom, they were both standing, covered in blood. "Are you guys alright?" Luke asked.

No response...

They were both looking at something, but we couldn't make out what it was.

"I got this." Luke said. Luke raised his hand and swung at Max's face but was stopped. Max grabbed his hand before it even touched him.

"We're surrounded, you fucking idiots." Max said. "We aren't moving because most of our bones are broken." Tom said. "Let me heal you then." Sam insisted. "Heal Tom, I'll heal myself." Max said.

As they were healing, I felt the same feeling I felt before, as if someone is still watching me.

Then I look up and see someone floating, just staying there not doing anything. I soon as I saw it, it flew off. I let it slide and didn't think much of it.

"Alright let's head back to our homes and go to bed 'cause I'm tired." Luke said. "Alright then, everyone go home and if you get attacked, call everyone." Max said.

We all head to our homes and as soon as we Luke, Jade and I arrived, I smack Luke, making him fall to the ground.

"What was that for?" Luke asked. "You almost revealed the ritual, you fucking idiot!" I said furious at him. "I'll just... head to bed." Jade said, walking out of the argument.

"My bad, I didn't think he would hear me." Luke said. "Of course, were in some abandoned apartments and it won't fucking echo every sound that's in the building!" I said. "Ohh..." Luke finally realized.

"It's fine now, he didn't find out. Just head to your room and sleep." I said. "Okay." Luke said.

Morning comes...

As I wake up, I look at my phone and see 5 missed calls from Max. "Great, what does he want?" I said in a grumpy mood. I call him back to see what he wanted. "You called?" I said. "Yeah, I was going to ask you something but it's not important anymore, so you can go back to sleep." Max said. "Ok then, bye." I said as hang up right after.

Then I hear Luke struggling in the kitchen again...
