'I thought I recognized when love was true, but I'm confused. Am I ready for love or maybe just a best friend, should there be a difference, do you have instructions?'
In which Lexi explores the world through photography and gets the shock of a life...
♪ Fleetwood Mac - In The Back Of My Mind: 'Well I try and try, you can't forget her. Can't run, can't hide when you remember.'
Lando finished his day at McLaren with a couple of hours on the simulator and then it was time to head home. He got into his papaya sportscar and started the journey home. He was listening to some music and a specific lyric stood out to him: 'I remember your eyes burning bright like we touched the summer sun. I can see your shadow standing there on the streets where we used to run'. Lando didn't seem to get her off his mind. He still didn't remember anything, but he knew he must have seen Lexi before.
When he arrived home, had put down his gym bag and got himself a drink out of the fridge, he decided enough was enough. He opened the Instagram app and started typing 'Lexi' in the search bar when he saw a couple of notifications. It turned out he didn't even have to look her up and his eyes went wide when he saw: '@lexi.abrams started following you' on his screen. He clicked on her profile and scrolled down. He had definitely seen this girl before today. Lando looked at a couple of recent posts but one stood out to him.

Those eyes, they made Lando remember something without realizing what it was. He dared to be bold and liked the photo. He didn't want to push it by following her back right away but he would definitely check up on her Instagram every once in a while. He walked up the stairs, entered his streaming room, turned on his pc and started up Call of Duty. He was in for a fun night of streaming with his friends.

'@landonorris liked your photo'
Lexi hadn't been able to open the notification yet. She was just staring at her screen in disbelief. 'So he did notice me..' she thought while opening her Instagram. The photo he liked was taken last weekend after a long and hard week of work. Lexi had felt herself become a little down and did what every girl does when she needs some distraction: she grabbed her laptop, went to her best friend's YouTube channel, put up a Get Ready With Me video and started her makeup. That always made her feel 10 times better. And the opportunity to shoot some IG pictures is never a waste of time.
"Lex? Joey? I'm home!" she heard her mom yell downstairs and without hesitation, Lexi stood up and walked to the kitchen. "Hi, mom! How was your day?" She loved her parents so much and was always interested in listening to their stories. Her mom worked in a clothing store and started to tell her the funniest story about one of her customers. "So she stepped out of the fitting room, but didn't notice her skirt got stuck on the door, so when she went to take another step, it lifted and she stood there in her underwear!" Her mom was almost crying with laughter at this point. "Oh no, the poor woman!" Lexi answered when they calmed down a bit. "How was your day sweetie? Tell me about your first big assignment!" Right then, her dad came home. So when she started telling them about her day and where she had been, he got the biggest smile on his face. "I'm so proud of you, Lex!" he said.
After dinner, Lexi went back upstairs to watch some tv. She tried to avoid studying on Wednesdays and Thursdays because she didn't want to overwork herself. So she got changed into some cosy pyjamas, washed the makeup off her face and got into bed. The Netflix logo appeared on the screen and Lexi clicked on Riverdale to continue watching where she left off.
After a couple of hours of binge-watching, her phone rang. "Hi Lex, it's Jackie. I wanted to say that I loved your photos of today. You really managed to capture the boys' personalities in your photos". "Oh thanks, Jackie, I loved doing it. It was so much fun and I learned a lot!". Lexi said reminiscing with a smile on her face. "Listen, I know tomorrow is your day off and you usually bury yourself in books on Friday but how would you like to come to the McLaren event they're hosting tomorrow? Just for fun, no working.." Oh what?! She didn't really know what to say. "Ehmm, yeah of course.. What would I need to be wearing?" she asked hesitantly. "Just a dress, a bit fancy. Great, we will pick you up around 7, okay?" Lexi finished up the phone call and walked to her closet. 'I need to find a dress ASAP!'
"Liv, I need your help! I'm going to this McLaren event tomorrow and I need to wear something fancy. Please help me pick something!" Lexi asked when she saw her friend's smiling face on Facetime. "Let me see your closet. Give me a tour of all your dresses". Together they went over every option in Lexi's closet. Her room was a mess because she had modelled every single dress she owned but they were happy with the end result. Eventually, they picked a beige coloured dress with long puffy sleeves and styled it with her white sandals. Olivia even helped her pick out the makeup look she was going to try and create tomorrow. "Thank you so much, you're the best friend a girl can wish for! Have a good night". Lexi told her before she hung up.
Lexi grabbed the hangers and put all her dresses back in their original place. She hung the beige coloured dress on her closet door and picked out some accessories to go with it. She put her pyjamas back on and got back into bed. She opened Instagram and saw Lando had posted something on his Stories about an hour ago. It was a photo of his computer and it said: "Starting my stream right now. Check it out at twitch.tv/landonorris!". Of course Lexi had heard of Twitch before, but she was more a Youtube kind of girl. Still, she opened her laptop and typed in the link. She was curious to see what Lando would be doing right now. 'Is that creepy?' she thought.
He was playing some kind of shooting game and he was talking with his friend, who she later found out was called Max. They were having a lot of fun and he seemed to have built up quite the group of viewers. "Go say that to your girl!" Max yelled after Lando said something she didn't quite hear because she was too busy reading the chat. 'See, he has a girlfriend. I knew it..' Lexi let her head hang and closed her eyes for a second. "I can't, I don't have her number. I just met her today". 'Wait, what? He can't be.. Is he talking about me?' "Are you streaming again tomorrow?" Max asked when they ended their last game. "Nope, I have this event at MTC. Quite the fancy affair. Suit, tie, everything". Lexi's eyes went wide in shock. 'Oh no, that means I will see him again tomorrow. And why did Max call me 'his girl'? If it even was about me..'
When they ended the stream, Lexi brushed her teeth and got back into bed. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep right away. Dreaming about him..
