"Dave? Can I talk to you for a moment?" Lando asked quietly while Lexi and her mom were upstairs. Dave smiled and nodded and followed Lando out towards the porch. It was the exact same porch where Lexi sat a year ago, watching Lando's stream when they were broken up on her holiday to Italy. A lot had happened since then and they couldn't be more pleased with the decision to move in together. The commercial campaign Lexi had shot had been a huge success and had given her more big opportunities, Lando had kept P4 in the driver's championship last year and he had been on the podium a few times already this season. But most importantly, their relationship was the best it had ever been. They were spending a lot of time together, going out or staying in cosied up on the sofa and Lando couldn't be happier than he was now on holiday with his girlfriend and her family. He felt a little nervous about this conversation, but he was sure about what he was going to say.
"What's up?" Dave said when he sat down. Lando cleared his throat and looked at him. "You know in Italy when you came to visit the race and we had that talk about Lexi moving in with me?" He asked and Dave nodded, wanting him to continue. "Well, you thought I was going to ask you something else first, right?" Dave nodded again, his eyes growing a little bigger. "I love Lexi with all of my heart, the last year and a half have been everything I've ever wanted from a relationship and I would love to take it to the next step. I wanted to ask you if it would be okay with you if I asked her to marry me?" Lando said, getting quieter near the end of his little speech, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. Dave didn't say anything for a few seconds, before he stood up, grabbed Lando and gave him the biggest hug. "Of course son, I would love for you to make my little girl as happy as she is now for the rest of her life". Dave said and Lando let out a big breath without realizing he was holding it. "Thank you so much Dave, that means the world to me. There is another thing I would like to ask then.. Can you help me arrange it for tomorrow?" Lando laughed softly.
He didn't have big plans, he wanted it to be small and intimate. Lexi wasn't one for big gestures and lots of people around, so he wanted it to be just them two. They could celebrate with her family afterwards. If she said yes of course. 'Oh my god, what if she says no?' Lando thought to himself and he felt the nerves running up his body. It was the next afternoon and he had arranged everything they would need with Dave last night after the girls and Joey went to bed. Lando was getting dressed to go on a hike with Lexi, something they had planned to do all week. He checked to see if the ring was still in the little box before he shoved it into his pocket. "Are you ready babe?" He said when Lexi exited the bathroom in a casual outfit, perfect for hiking. "Yeah, just let me grab some water bottles and then we can go". She had no idea, he could tell she was clueless by her relaxed state and it made him let out a small laugh. "Ready babe!" Lexi yelled from the kitchen before they headed outside.
It was a lovely evening and Lando knew exactly where to walk to, even though he hadn't been here before. Dave had told him about a perfect spot for the proposal at the top of a hill. There was supposed to be a gorgeous view of the town and the mountains, so Lando couldn't wait to see it. His nerves grew while they were getting closer and it was hard to focus on the conversation he was having with Lexi in the mean time. "Oh my gosh, look at this view!" Lexi said when they reached the top of the hill. The sun was setting behind the mountains and they could see all the little houses in town, as well as the sea on the other side. "It's gorgeous". Lexi said before taking a couple pictures to post on her Instagram. When she turned to the side to see where Lando was, she looked down to see him on his knee in front of her. "O-oh my gosh.." She whispered. "My beautiful angel.." He started and Lexi felt the tears well up in her eyes already. "This last year with you has been the best year of my life. You lift me up, keep me focused, bring out the most goofy side of me no one ever sees, you're my best friend, my biggest supporter and the love of my life. Will you please become my wife?" Lando said while he pulled the ring box out of his trousers.
"Oh my gosh.." Lexi repeated again when she saw the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. She bent down to grab Lando's face and pulled him up towards her. "Of course I will". She let out a sob while kissing him and Lando wrapped his arms around her and spun around a few times. "I can't believe you did this!" Lexi said while he slowly put the ring on her finger. Lexi gasped again and shook her head. "Is this a dream?" She asked him and he softly cupped her face with his hand while caressing her cheek. "No baby, it's all real". He said and he kissed her slowly. "It's not over yet". He whispered and when they walked a little further across the hill, Lexi spotted a blanket with a picnic basket between lots of gorgeous flowers in a field. "You are amazing Lando". She said, walking over to the perfect spot while holding on to his hand really tight. She had never felt this happy before.

A / N:Oh my gosh, I can't believe this is the end! Thank you all so much for reading along with my first story. I was a little scared to post this but the response had been amazing and I'm already planning another book :) Hope to see you over there soon!
