"Hey there, traveller". Liv said when she opened the door to see Lexi standing there smiling. The girls hugged each other and were glad to be reunited. They hadn't seen each other in a few weeks and it was time to have a girls' night. Olivia had called Lexi to ask if she wanted to come over and model some of her new designs for Peachy Apparel and Lexi was happy to help. "So tell me, what am I modelling today?" Lexi said, excited to see her best friend's new clothing pieces. She was very proud of Liv and loved that she had built up this brand all by herself. "A few new tops, a skirt and a two-piece set which will look amazing on you!". Olivia said and Lexi could tell she was proud of her work. Olivia lived with her boyfriend in a small house a few blocks away from Lexi's parents' home and she had an entire office, covered in fabrics, sketches and prototypes. Lexi took a seat on the chair in the middle of the room and waited for her friend to show her the first item.
"Oh my gosh, that looks stunning on you!" Liv said when Lexi tried on the first top. It was cropped, white and had flowy sleeves. She paired it with a standard pair of mom jeans and the girls shot the first pictures in the garden. The second top was green, tight around her body and had short sleeves with ruffles on them. Lexi suggested styling this with the new white skirt Liv designed and some sandals for the second photos. Then came the two-piece set which Liv had been hyping up all morning. "Here I come!" Lexi said when she entered the room in the blue ribbed material. The skirt was tight and reached her calves and the top had long sleeves and a little knot in the front. "It is so comfortable, I love it!" Lexi said as she put on a leather jacket over it and added trainers for a casual look. "I'm so going to post these pictures on Instagram later". Liv was proud to see her work on Lexi and clapped her hands.

Lexi sat on Liv's sofa reading through the comments on her Instagram post and couldn't believe her eyes. They weren't even public with their relationship yet and the hate was already coming her way. She stood up and entered the kitchen where Olivia was making them some lunch. "You have to see this. I didn't even say anything about him and Lando only posted 'wow' with a fire emoji and I'm getting all kinds of hate". Lexi said showing her best friend her phone. Even though she and Lando had been out at a club in Portugal, they weren't spotted by paparazzi or media so no one knew about their relationship yet. And they didn't want that to change anytime soon. Lando knew Lexi would be getting these types of comments if it came out and he said he wanted to protect her from that. Lexi understood now, as she saw comment after comment rolling in. "This person says I am too ugly for him". Lexi laughed. Deep down she thought it was kind of funny.
"These people don't even know you and your relationship. They are just jealous". Liv said and Lexi knew her best friend was right. "I'll call Lando later to tell him if he hasn't read them already". They spent the rest of the afternoon gossiping, drinking tea and coming up with new ideas for YouTube videos to film another time. Lexi was heading home when she heard her phone ring. She answered and put it on speaker in her lap. "Hey love, I'm driving home right now". She told Lando. "Hey babe, I just wanted to call you to ask if you have read the comments under your Instagram post yet.." She heard him hesitate and she confirmed she had seen them. "I'm sorry this has to happen to you, I should not have commented on your photo. But you looked so good, I couldn't help myself". Lexi giggled and tried to reassure him. "It's okay. I can handle it. They don't know me and us and are probably all sour because they can't have you themselves". She said and heard him laugh.
"Maybe we should consider making it public then? So we can get all this speculating out of the way and just enjoy being together without having to be afraid to be spotted?" He asked her and she thought about it for a while. She would lose a bit of her privacy and she was sure the hate wouldn't stop there. But she didn't want to hide anymore. "Okay, how would you like to do that?" Lexi asked him and now he was the one who was silent for a little while. "Maybe we could post a picture of us on our Stories? Or just mine if you don't want to do that.. It'll spread around pretty quick then I think". They spoke through their plan and picked the hotel room selfie for Lando to post. Lexi held her phone to her ear when she arrived home and went upstairs. 'Can we FaceTime while you post it? I want to talk to you for a little while longer.." They switched the call to FaceTime and Lexi's eyes lit up when she saw her handsome boyfriend sit at his desk. "Are you streaming later?" She asked and he nodded.
"You'll get plenty of comments and questions about the photo then I think". Lexi said. "Yeah but that's great because then I can tell the story of how we know each other and there won't be any speculating anymore. I can also tell them that you got the job before we even started dating and you did that all by yourself". Lando comforted her and she was glad he was so sweet about it. "Well, you can post it now". She said and she saw the screen pause when he went to open Instagram. After a few minutes, he came back and told her he had done it. He had posted the photo with a heart emoji and the replies were already rolling in. "Most of them are really sweet. They think you're gorgeous and they wish us happiness together". Lexi's heart melted hearing that and she smiled at him. "You can start your stream now, I will be watching okay? I love you". "Okay, I love you too babe". He said before they hung up.
Lexi was watching his stream when she noticed the first few messages about their photo in chat. Lando had seen it too and he took a deep breath before he started speaking. "Yes chat, I have a girlfriend as you all may have seen in the picture on my Stories earlier. Her name is Lexi, we have known each other since elementary school and she is a photographer for McLaren. She came to take our photos one day, I didn't recognize her". He chuckled when he said that before he continued. "And we started talking. She told me we had known each other for a long time and then it hit me that I knew who she was. She got offered the job at McLaren before we started dating and it all went from there. I'm really happy and so is she, hopefully". Lexi smiled at the screen when he finished his story and decided to type in chat.

She saw him look at the screen and she could tell when he read her message by the smile on his face. Others in chat noticed it too and they were getting so many lovely comments. "Thank you all for your support, we really appreciate it". Lando said and he continued his stream. Lexi's phone was going off with tons of new followers, messages and likes and she smiled. Phew, that went well.
