Jake Scott - Dawn:
'And I'm in love, yeah I'm in love. Oh you broke me like the dawn breaks through the night. And I didn't even know that it needed light. Yeah I'm in love'He reached the floor of his destination and hesitated a few seconds before he knocked. The door opened slowly and he saw Dave standing there in his pyjamas with his eyes wide. "Lando? Is everything okay? Did something happen to Lexi?" He asked. "No everything is fine, I just wanted to talk to you for a moment if that's possible. I want to ask you something.."
"Okay, sure. Come in". Dave said and he stepped aside to let Lando walk into the room. Joey was already asleep on his side of the room so they had to be a little quiet. Lando sat down on the chair and waited until Dave was seated on the bed before he spoke up. "I wanted to talk to you about Lexi. You know how much I love your daughter and even though we just got back together and we haven't been in a relationship for that long, I really want to take the next step with her". He paused for a second and saw Dave open his mouth slightly. "Now, I'm not going to ask you for her hand just yet". Lando said and he saw the relieved look on Dave's face and he relaxed for a second. "I wanted to ask you if it would be okay if I ask Lexi to move in with me tomorrow after the race". Lando said while looking straight into his eyes. He needed him to know how serious he was about this. "Well.. I'm glad it was a different question than the one I was dreading when you stood outside this door. Not because I would have said no, but because I think you two are still too young to get married so soon". Dave said and Lando nodded.
"I know how hard it has been to spend time together even though you two are in the same industry and she has been spending a lot of time at your house already recently. You're a good man Lando, I know you'll take care of my little girl, right?" Dave asked and Lando nodded. "Of course, I will do everything to make her happy". He said and he saw a smile grow on Dave's face. "Then I have to call Caroline tomorrow to tell her her little girl is going to be moving out". Lando smiled and stood up to hug him. "Thank you so much!" He said and Dave gave him a pat on the back. "I appreciate you came to talk to me first. You've been raised well". He said and escorted Lando back over to the door. "Now, go get some sleep, you have a race to win tomorrow". They said goodnight and Lando headed back up to their suite. When he entered he found Lexi all curled up in bed quietly snoring away. He got into bed slowly because he didn't want to disturb her and softly placed a kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight princess, I can't wait to go back to our house together soon". He said before he drifted off into a peaceful sleep himself.

The race was in full swing when Lexi found another corner on the track to take pictures from. Lando had been passed by Bottas on the previous lap and she sighed. She wanted him to get another podium to end their amazing weekend with her family. There were only a few laps left when she saw Bottas make a mistake at the turn she was standing at. It was quite difficult to not be able to watch the race on tv because she had to wait an entire lap before they would fly by her again and she could see if Lando had passed him. Lexi heard clapping and cheering from the previous corner and she lifted her camera to her face. She saw an orange McLaren drive by first and then she spotted Bottas, right on his tail. He had passed him again! The next few laps were nerve-wracking and Lexi was counting down in her head. Two to go when they drove by again. Lando was still in front, but the gap wasn't getting any bigger. She had taken a few photos of Daniel when he passed in P5 and waited for the last lap. He was still in front. She quickly shot a few more pictures and ran back to the garage.
She was just in time in parc fermé to see Lando drive up to the P3 board. He did it! Lexi felt the tears pricking behind her eyes but she still had her job to do so she quickly covered her face with her camera. The team celebrated with their driver and she also saw Daniel walk over to congratulate his teammate. They hugged and Lexi headed towards the garage when Lando went to the podium. She wasn't allowed to take photos there so she wasn't necessary anymore. Lexi packed away her camera and headed over to the hospitality when she saw Joey running out towards her. "He did it Lex! It was amazing!" Joey yelled and she hugged him. She loved how much fun he had this weekend and she couldn't wait to do it again next year when they returned to Europe. "Come on, let's wait for him in his driver room". She said and she took her brother with her to wait for Lando. Joey looked around the room for a while until Lando opened the door and entered the room.
"Joey, my man! I think your presence has given me some extra pace". Lando said and Joey hugged him. Then he turned to Lexi and his smile softened. "My angel". He said before he took her in his arms and kissed her forehead. "I'm so proud of you". Lexi said and she let him hold her for a moment. Jon joined them not too long after and he brought her dad with him. They talked about the race for a while and Lexi got caught up on all the things she had missed while taking her pictures. She showed Lando the one she took right after he had passed Bottas and a few in parc ferme and then they headed back to the hotel. Her dad and Joey would leave tonight because they had work and school again in the morning. Lexi and Lando would stay another night and fly back tomorrow. Lexi said goodbye to her family when they got to their room and Dave thanked Lando again for everything he had arranged for them. "I'll see you soon sweetie". he said when he hugged Lexi one last time.
"This weekend was amazing Lando, thank you so much for everything you did for us". Lexi said to him when they entered their suite and she turned to him. He reached for her waist and pulled her closer towards him. When Lando kissed her forehead, Lexi's eyes fluttered closed. "It's not over yet". He said and Lexi looked back up at him. "What do you mean?" She asked confused. The weekend was over, her family left. Lando just finished on P3 in the race. What else could there be? Lando grabbed her hand and guided her to the bed. He sat down beside her, still holding her hand and looked into her eyes. "Remember I went to see Jon last night before you fell asleep?" He asked and Lexi nodded. "I didn't go to see Jon, I went back to your dad's room to talk to him about something". Lexi's eyes grew big but she didn't know what to say. She moved around a little, trying to find a comfortable spot to sit in. "Lexi, I love you so much and I'm so sorry that we had to break up a while ago but I'm never letting you go again. I want to do everything to make this relationship work this time and give you all the attention and love you deserve".
Lexi's eyes filled with tears and she felt one roll down her cheek before Lando wiped it away with his thumb. "I went to your dad last night to ask him if he was okay with me asking you to move in with me. I want you close to me all the time, during races but also in England. Going home together, waking up together. Will you please move in with me?" Lando said and he looked at Lexi who was now full-on crying. "You went to my dad to ask him that? That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard anyone do. Of course, I want to move in with you. I would love to be with you all the time". Lexi smiled while sobbing and Lando leaned in to kiss her. "I love you so much. I really want to make it work this time". He said and Lexi knew she wanted the same.
