The first few days in Italy had been hard for Lexi. She thought about Lando a lot and doubted their decision multiple times. But today, she had other things on her mind. She would receive a call from the student counsellor of her school with the results of her finals. Lexi was nervous and when she reached to her neck to fiddle with her necklace like she had done for months whenever she was anxious, it wasn't there. Luckily she took it with her and today was a day she would need it for good luck. She decided to wear it and the purpose wasn't love or Lando this time. Today, L was for Lexi. She got dressed in a leopard print bikini, a white blouse and denim shorts and a camel coloured hat and joined her parents and brother in the kitchen for breakfast. Her phone wouldn't leave her side today. She didn't know when she would be called, so the volume was turned all the way up.
After breakfast, they headed to the beach for some lounging and swimming. Lexi brought a book and for the first time in a long time, she could enjoy reading without it being about photography or other subjects she needed to study for school. Her dad and brother went for a swim and her mom was next to her on another lounger. "Are you nervous about your results today?" She asked and Lexi shrugged. "A little, I know that everything went well and that's what I keep telling myself". She let out a chuckle and her mom brushed over her arm with her fingers. "It will all be okay, we are so proud of you anyway!" Lexi smiled at her and they chatted for a while before her dad and brother came back from their swim. "Joey stop it! You are getting all the pages wet!" Lexi yelled at her brother when he hovered over her, dripping down with seawater.
Later that afternoon, Lexi jumped up from the sound of her phone. "Oh my god, this is it!" She yelled and quickly composed herself before she answered the call. "Hello? Hmm-mm, this is she. Okay, yeah.." Her mom looked at her expression to see any hint of happiness or disappointment and soon a big smile grew on Lexi's face. "Are you serious? Oh my god, thank you so much! Yes, okay! Bye!" Lexi hung up the phone and started running little circles around their chairs. "I did it, I freaking did it!" Her dad engulfed her in a hug and soon her mom joined them. Joey was just standing on the side clapping his hands and he was really proud of his big sister. "This calls for some bubbly, doesn't it?" Her dad said and when he pulled out a bottle of champagne from their little freezer box, Lexi lifted her eyebrows. "You had that in there the entire time?" "Yes, we know you would pass with flying colours!" They all started laughing and clinked their glasses on Lexi's graduation.

Lando had just finished unpacking his bags from his trip to Croatia and he was glad to be home. He sat down on the sofa and started up Netflix while he scrolled through Instagram for a bit. He saw Lexi's post and his eyes went wide because he hadn't seen her face in a while. For his own mental health, Lando had changed the picture on his screensaver so this was the first photo he saw of her in a few days. The first thing he noticed was how gorgeous she looked. She really was the most beautiful girl in the world to him and he stared at her lovely brown eyes for a moment. He then scrolled further down and read the caption. 'L for Lexi'. He read at the end of the sentence. Was this supposed to mean anything? Although that hurt him a little bit, he was so happy she passed all her finals and he was also secretly a little relieved she was still wearing his necklace. He decided to comment on her post and even though the temptation to call her was huge, he didn't. They needed some time apart and he had to give her her space for now.
The transition from messaging and calling every day to not speaking to her at all had been really hard for Lando and he needed to distract himself before he would send her paragraphs of text with how much he loved and missed her. Just as Lexi, Lando had questioned whether their decision was really the right choice and most of the time, his heart told him 'no' but his head told him 'yes'. He had never felt anything like he felt for Lexi before and he didn't know how long it would take for the pain to ease a little bit. While still looking at her picture, Lando felt a tear rolling down his face and he was glad to be home alone so he could let them fall freely. He just had to keep reminding himself that he did this for her and he didn't want to see her hurt anymore. It was for the best.
After a lazy afternoon on the sofa watching some movies and eating lots of snacks (yay, summer break) Lando decided he wanted to stream. It had been a while because of his trip and spending an evening behind his computer playing games, was just what he needed right now. He quickly ate some dinner his mom had left for him in the fridge when she came over while he was gone and headed up the stairs. He started his stream and soon he was completely distracted by chat and the games of Call Of Duty he played with Max.

Lexi looked at the notification on her phone and hesitated for a moment. Was it a good idea to go watch his live stream right now? She knew all the feelings would come rushing back and she hated that she still wanted to click it right away. Deciding she would wait for a little while longer, she walked out of the back door of their vacation home and sat on the back porch. It had a lovely view of the Italian mountains and Lexi loved it here. They came here every year ever since she was little and usually her grandparents would join them also, but they were getting older so they had decided to stay home. It was a shame because Lexi loved spending time with them and she really looked forward to seeing them again. Lexi took a short video of her cup of tea with the view in the background, she added some music and a couple of gifs before she posted in on her Stories.
The temptation was really getting to her and she couldn't hold back any longer. She swiped down her screen so the Twitch notification showed up and she finally clicked it. She saw Lando's handsome face on fullscreen, chatting with his viewers and she heard Max in the background. Lando was telling some stories about their holiday and he answered some questions he got asked in the chat. "Where is Lexi?" He read out loud. "She is on holiday in Italy at the moment, enjoying the good life". He said with a chuckle. It was nice to see he was still talking about her in a positive way and he had a smile on his face while doing so. Lexi then saw him grab his phone and a couple of seconds later she heard the music playing she added on her Stories earlier. He showed the video to his chat and it made her heart melt a little. She decided to text him.

His message made Lexi's heart flutter and she was happy they could still make jokes and have fun together. She continued to watch his stream for a while as she found his voice so relaxing. Except for the parts where he screamed like a little child at Max because he didn't do what they had planned. Lexi started to get really tired and decided to have an early night. Tomorrow would be very action-packed because they had a walking tour of the city planned, so she needed her beauty sleep. After washing her face, brushing her teeth and combing through her hair, Lexi cuddled up in bed and watched one more game of COD on Lando's stream until her eyes fell closed and she dozed off to sleep.
