There was no time to think about the graduation plan yet because this weekend was the first Dutch Grand Prix in years. Lando, Lexi and the team flew in yesterday and today was media day. Lando had promised Olivia to stay away from Lexi this weekend, so the surprise would be even bigger when he showed up at her school on Monday. And even though it was very hard and he felt bad for Lexi for acting like he didn't care anymore, he knew her reaction would be priceless when she saw him. The first interviews had been done and it was time to film the McLaren challenge video for YouTube this afternoon. Lando and Daniel were brought into a room where the challenge was set up and they had to answer questions about each other as fast as possible and they would get a little shock if the answer was wrong.
"Lando, the first question, are you ready?" Charlotte said when the camera was rolling and Lando looked scared. Lexi was in the back of the room, taking pictures and she could barely hold her laugh when she saw the look on Lando's face. He hadn't talked to her since he drove her to the hotel in Belgium, but she could sense a change in his behaviour. He was happier, more relaxed and he kept looking at her when he thought she couldn't see it. "Where was Daniel born?" She heard Charlotte say and Lando was silent for a few seconds. "Perth, right?" He said and Lexi could see his relieved face when he found out it was indeed right. She started taking some photos while they answered the next questions and she got closer to the two of them. Lexi had missed his handsome face through her camera and her heart made a little jump when he looked straight at her through the lens.
"Next one. What is Daniel's middle name?" Lando thought about it for a while. "Ehm I don't know. Probably something funky. Maybe like Edward or something". Daniel started laughing and Lando didn't like the silence in the room and the look on Charlotte's face. Suddenly he felt his hand twitching and a shockwave came through his arm. "Ouch! That freakin' hurt!" He yelled. Daniel was creasing with laughter next to him and he hoped he would get a question wrong soon too. "Okay, same to you Daniel. What is Lando's middle name?" Lando smiled. He knew he would get this wrong. "Oh lord, I don't have a clue. Let's say, Matthew". He let out a nervous chuckle and Lando started laughing. "I don't have one". He pressed out while giggling. Next thing he saw was Daniel jumping up in the air from the shock through his arm and they both couldn't stop laughing from then until the end of the video.
When the filming ended, Lando and Daniel stayed seated for a while longer and they were just scrolling on their phones until he decided to speak up. "I wanted to thank you again for helping Lexi last weekend. I know I already texted you but it feels weird not to talk about it right now". Lando said. "Yeah I know, I didn't want to bring it up with her in the room and I didn't know if you two were on speaking terms yet but I'm glad I could help. It feels good to know that I prevented anything even more serious from happening". Daniel gave him a soft smile. "I hate to think about what would have happened if you didn't see them. If I ever see that guy again, I don't know if I can hold myself back". Lando felt the anger running through his body again. "Luckily Lexi's best friend told me that he got fired from Autosport after they called to tell them what happened. So he won't be in the paddock anymore". Daniel nodded. "That's good".
"Are you planning on speaking to her about it this weekend?" Daniel looked at him and Lando hesitated. "It's difficult, I really want to tell her that everything will be fine and I know what happened and stuff. But I'm planning on surprising her at her graduation next Monday, so I have to be a little bit distant still this weekend". He told Daniel about the plan and chatted for a little while longer before they left to go to the team dinner. It would be hard to avoid her there, but she still thought he was ignoring her so Lando was sure she wouldn't come up and talk to him.

Lexi had felt really shaky these last few days. After her time with Liv, she had felt a little better but being alone in another hotel was quite difficult. She had told Charlotte and Helen what had happened and they insisted to walk with her everywhere she went. So they were getting ready for team dinner in the girls' room right now. "Have you talked to Lando yet?" Helen asked her and Lexi shook her head. "He is still a bit off with me, but I can see he isn't angry anymore. He looks happier and less stressed out. But we haven't been in a situation where we had to talk to each other yet. Maybe later tonight.." She said while brushing her hair through. She had decided on wearing one of Liv's new dresses tonight. It was off white with little orange leaves on them, she felt really pretty in it. She styled it with some white heels and her typical gold jewellery. She hadn't worn the 'L' necklace in a while but decided she would add it around her neck tonight.

When the girls entered the hotel restaurant, they sat down at the end of the long table that was reserved for the team. They were the first and Lexi looked at Helen and Charlotte in shock because that had never happened before. Some mechanics and engineers came strolling into the room and sat down at the other end of the table after greeting them. A few minutes later Lexi saw Lando, Daniel, Jon and Daniel's trainer Michael enter and she quickly looked away. The table had filled up pretty fast and the only available seats were right next to her and Helen. Daniel sat down at her right and she saw Lando hesitate before he sat down across from her. "Hi guys". Charlotte spoke up and Lexi gave them a small smile. She had talked to Daniel after everything that happened, but she had no clue if Lando knew already. Daniel had promised not to say anything so she assumed he didn't.
She felt his eyes on her and when she looked up she could see him stare at the necklace she was wearing. Lexi swore she saw a little smile before he quickly looked away and without even noticing it, she lifted her hand to touch it like she always used to do when she was nervous. They didn't talk to each other during dinner, but they both felt the tension that was between them. It wasn't a bad kind of tension, they both just wanted everything to be okay again. Luckily Daniel and Charlotte couldn't stop talking and laughing about this afternoon's challenge so there were no awkward silences they had to fill up. They ate, drank and laughed until the rest of the table was empty and soon the boys' trainers said it was time to head up to the room.
Lexi hesitated to follow Lando when he left with Jon to tell him everything that happened last weekend, but she still remembered what she heard him say about her. He didn't want to see her for a while. And even though he had just spent an entire dinner in front of her and nothing seemed to bother him that much anymore, she couldn't risk it right before his race weekend. So she joined the girls for a movie in their room and decided to wait a little while longer.
