31 | Forever this time?

"Can you wait in here for a second?" Lando said when they entered his house. He took the flowers from her so he could put them in a vase for as long as she would stay here and he went over to the living room to light all the candles he had set up this afternoon. He was happy he did all this before he left so he was ready within a few minutes. Lando walked back over to Lexi and stopped in front of her. "You trust me right?" He said and she nodded with a smile on her face. Lando went to move behind her and covered her eyes with his hands. Then he gently guided her forward into the living room. "What have you done?" She said and Lando chuckled. "You'll see". 

When they entered the room, Lando positioned her facing the sofa and all the candles and rose petals and slowly let his hands fall from her face. He held her by her waist and told her she could open her eyes. "Oh my god, this is so sweet. Thank you so much Lando!" Lexi said and she turned around to hug him. After holding her for a few seconds, he pulled back a little and looked down into her eyes while his hands lingered on her lower back. "I've missed you so much Lex. I know we were both very busy and I messed up by letting that girl kiss me in Croatia, but I haven't stopped thinking about you ever since we broke up. You mean the world to me and I was so miserable without you". He said and he saw the tears forming in her eyes. "I have missed you too. A lot has happened and I think we should talk about that first. Maybe you will change your mind if you hear everything.." Lexi said unsure about what he would think of it all. 

"Let's sit down. Do you want to order some food first?" Lando answered and she nodded. After they had ordered their Thai food, Lando turned to face her on the sofa. "As I told you before, Liv has told me a lot about what happened. But I want to tell you my side okay?" She nodded. So Lando told her about seeing her with Mark, seeing how happy she looked without him, them kissing in the hospitality and later seeing them go up to her hotel room. "I was just angry because I thought you had moved on so quickly". Lando said looking down. He remembered the pain he felt back then. "I just had a friendly drink with him once and he became so pushy and I hated it. But I was scared to tell him to back off, especially in public. And then.. everything happened.." Lexi's words became quieter. "It's okay, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to". Lando scooted closer towards her and she cuddled up to him.

"I want to tell you everything, but it's hard. Some things are a bit blurry because my mind doesn't like thinking about it". Lexi started telling him everything and Lando felt himself getting angrier by the second. He tried to stay calm because he wanted to comfort her but it was so hard. "And then I heard someone yell and he ran away so I opened the door to my room. It was Daniel and he stayed with me until I was asleep". Lexi said and the tears were rolling down her face now. "I'm so glad he was there at that moment and not a few minutes later.." Lando answered and Lexi nodded. "I made him promise not to tell you because I didn't want to jeopardize your race and when I came to see you afterwards, I heard you say that you didn't want to see me, so I left". Lexi said and she looked straight into his eyes for the first time in half an hour.

Lando told her about his chat with Jon and she understood his point of view. Their food had arrived in the meantime and they talked about their holidays and what they had done when they weren't together. After they finished their plates of food, Lando grabbed Lexi's hand. "Lex, I love you so much and I have let you go once before and I'm not doing it again. Will you please be my girlfriend again, forever this time?" He cupped her face with his hand and he felt her lean into it and she closed her eyes. "I would love to.." Was her response and Lando didn't waste another second. He leaned in and let his lips brush over hers. She didn't expect it, because her eyes were closed so she let out a soft gasp when she felt him near her. Lando fully closed the gap between them and kissed her like he had imagined doing ever since he saw her again in the airport the first time after their breakup. 

His hands wandered down her body and stopped at her waist while hers were laying comfortable on his chest. They had missed this so much. "Will you please stay over tonight?" He asked after a while and Lexi didn't even have to think about it. "Of course". She said. "So that's why you were looking at me all the time this past weekend?" Lexi said while letting out a small giggle. "It was so hard not to tell you everything was going to be fine and all I wanted to do was hold you and kiss you but I would have ruined the surprise then". Lando said and Lexi thought about her best friend and boyfriend trying to orchestrate this together. "I really love that you two arranged this. It means a lot to me". She said and he kissed her again. "Wait here". Lando said before he stood up. "More surprises?" What had he planned now?

Lando came walking back into the room with his hands behind his back. "Can you close your eyes and hold your hands in front of you?" He asked and Lexi looked at him with a questioning look. "It's nothing scary right?" She said and he started laughing. "Do you think I would be so calm right now if it was something scary?" Lando responded and Lexi laughed. She closed her eyes and held her hands out. She felt him place a small box in it and slowly opened her eyes. "Open it". He said and Lexi moved her fingers over the velvet box before she lifted the lid. "Oh my gosh, wow. That's gorgeous". She said while taking the bracelet out of the box. Lando sat down next to her again, took the bracelet out of her hands and placed it around her wrist. "Lando, this is too much. You really didn't have to do all this". Lexi said while looking at the pretty jewel around her arm.

"We broke up because I couldn't give you what you deserved at that moment. I'm going to make sure I do this time around". Lando said and Lexi felt the butterflies rise up in her stomach. Her hands fell on his chest and she pushed him back onto the sofa. He had given her so much love already, so she decided to be a little bit bold. Lexi moved her leg over his lap so she was straddling him and waved her fingers in the back of his hair. Lando let out a big sigh and Lexi chose this moment to kiss him again. It started off really slow and loving, but she had missed him so much. Lexi let her tongue meet the seam of his lips before they deepened the kiss and it became more passionate. This was what kissing someone was supposed to feel like. "I've missed you so much baby". Lando said when he let his hands fall down on the back of her thighs. "Do you want to go upstairs to get changed?" Lexi was still in her dress and a movie night in Lando's bed sounded lovely right now.

Lexi blew out all the candles and Lando cleaned up the dishes in the meanwhile. They went upstairs and she grabbed one of Lando's shirts before she headed to the bathroom to get changed. When she was brushing her teeth, the door opened and Lando walked in with just a pair of shorts on. 'Wow, he looks even more muscly than he did before' Lexi thought and she subtly squeezed her thighs together when he stood behind her and placed his arms around her waist. "Do you want to watch some Black Mirror?" Lando asked after he was done brushing his teeth and when Lexi nodded, he went back into the bedroom to turn the tv on. Lexi walked over to the bed, opened the duvet and cuddled into the spot that she missed so much. His scent was all over the sheets and she couldn't believe she was finally here again.
