The next morning Lando woke up to his alarm ringing. He turned it off and looked at his phone: 9 AM, time for a run. He slowly got up, walked to his closet and picked out his gym clothes. On his way to the bathroom, he grabbed his phone to see if there were any important messages or notifications he had to look at. After reading a couple of text messages and emails, he started getting ready in the bathroom. The disappointing feeling of seeing no new notifications from Lexi clung to his stomach. 'Why is this girl so important to me?' He made the mistake to tell Max on stream yesterday that he met a pretty girl at work, so now he was constantly being harassed by Max and his fans who this girl was. She probably doesn't even remember him after sending the photos to be published.

Lando grabbed his phone, his AirPods and his keys and went out the door to go for a run around the neighbourhood. He lived close to the MTC so he could be called in whenever he was needed. He just moved into this house a couple of months ago but because he was away so often, it hadn't really become a 'home' yet. While running through the woods behind his house, his mind went to the party he was attending tonight. It was a fancy sponsor event but he would only be there for 'show', he didn't really have to do anything important except talk to the guests. Lando still had to pick out a suit for this evening but luckily he didn't have much planned today. He would like to get some racing time in on his simulator at home so he could practice for the next race.

After his run, he returned home and went straight to the shower. The hoodie and sweatpants he wore yesterday evening were still in the bathroom so he put those back on when he was done drying himself off. He went to his streaming room, turned on his simulator and started up the racing program. Then he went down to the kitchen and made himself some breakfast to eat first. While eating he checked Instagram to see if Lexi had posted anything new, and she did. She had posted a photo of her breakfast and a big textbook that laid beside it on her Stories. Happy to at least have seen a part of her day, he went to his streaming room and started his practice.

A couple of hours later it was time for Lando to pick out a suit. He had received a few earlier in the year from clothing brands that were sponsors of McLaren, so he would always have a fancy outfit if he needed one. And this was the occasion. He went with a classic black suit and a bow tie instead of a normal tie. He thought that he would look more youthful that way. He decided to stick with white trainers to give it a more 'casual' look. He styled his hair, brushed his teeth again and before he knew it, it was time to go. He got into his car and started the journey to the MTC.

"Hey man!" Lando looked around after he parked his car and saw his new teammate Daniel arrive at the same time as him. "Looking good!" he said to him. He quite liked Daniel. It wasn't the same as with Carlos, but Daniel was a couple of years older and they just started working together. They both had the same sense of humour so maybe in a couple of months, they would be joking around all the time. "You don't look so bad yourself either. Maybe my hope for you to find a girlfriend isn't completely given up after all.." Daniel said. Lando laughed when he said that. 'A girlfriend? No thanks'. He was never really interested in girls and lately, they were only interested in him because of his job and money. He hadn't thought about having a girlfriend in his life. Until yesterday.

They entered the MTC boulevard and it was beautifully decorated. Of course, there were some cars placed throughout the hallway but the venue mostly consisted of big round tables, a bar, a dancefloor and a stage with a band playing softly (for now). Lando spotted his team boss and walked up to him with Daniel following suit. "Hey Zak, how's it going?" They chatted for a moment until everyone was politely asked to find their seat. Lando was placed at the table with Zak, Andreas, Daniel and some other important members of the team. He went to take his seat and looked around at the other guests in the room. Everyone was dressed in suits and beautiful dresses. Then his eyes spotted Lexi and his breath got stuck in his throat. 'What is she doing here?' "Are you okay?" Daniel asked him when he apparently turned as white as a ghost. "Y-y-yeah I'm fine". Lando took a sip of his water and was very grateful that Zak went up on the stage to give a speech. One last time, his eyes wandered to Lexi. She was looking so beautiful.
