Verona laughed as she felt the new alpha bond form. Glancing at Marie and Connor, she knew by their ear to eat grins that they had felt the same thing. Looking around the plush den, she saw several more pack members with similar expressions.
"Did they just-" Marie asked her husband.
"Yes, I believe they did," Connor laughed.
"It's about damn time!" Verona exclaimed, earning her a roomful of chuckles.
"It looks like everyone is in agreement," Connor laughed with his sister.
"Not everyone," Marie said as she watched her father storm up the stairs, heading to his room. "I guess Dad doesn't like the fact Declan claimed Alyssa."
Verona and Connor glanced at each other, worry on their faces. Did Robert have a problem with Alyssa being a human? Or was his problem due to the fact she was a witch? Did he even know she was a witch? Neither one of them was sure what the answer was, nor what question to ask.
"Ok, guys, spill. What did that look mean? And before you try to deny it, yes, you shared a look," Marie asked the siblings.
"Umm, it's not really our place to say, Mar," Verona began. "It has to do with Alyssa, so either she or Declan should be the ones to bring that up. I'm sorry, sis, but don't be mad. Please?"
"Oh, trust me, Declan is so going to spill once they come out of that room!" Marie vowed, and Connor couldn't help but feel sorry for his best friend.

Alyssa stretched her aching muscles as the light coming through the curtains pierced her eyes.
"Good morning, beautiful," Declan said as he wrapped his arms around her. "How are you feeling, baby girl?"
"I'm fine. How about you?"
Declan laughed.
"Honey, I'm a wolf. You don't have to worry about my stamina," he told her, causing a blush to rise up on her cheeks. He thought she looked adorable. "Besides, it's you I'm worried about. That third time was extremely intense, even by wolf standards!"
"Oh, hush, you," Alyssa laughed as she buried her face in Declan's shoulder. They had woken up several times during the night and enthusiastically made love until they were both sated and exhausted. Even now, she could feel Declan's ardour rising, and quickly rolled out of bed. "Slow down, Romeo," she laughed, seeing Declan pouting playfully, "if we start again, we won't get out of bed all day long, and I'm hungry."
"Yea, I guess we should get up and grab something to eat. We need you to keep your strength up," he grinned wickedly at her, nearly breaking her composure. "Wanna share a shower?"
"I'm not sure that's a good idea, Dec..."

Forty minutes later, Declan and Alyssa finally made it down to the kitchen, running into Verona. She sat at the breakfast bar in the sunny, yellow room, snacking on a bowl of cereal, waiting for others to come down so they could start preparing a big communal breakfast for the entire pack.
"Morning folks! Have an interesting night?" she teased the couple. "Oh, and Alyssa, what the hell was with that mind link last night? You didn't even become a full blown member until Dec marked you!"
"Wait- mind link?" Declan interrupted before Alyssa could respond. "You can mind link with others?" He asked glancing at his sheepish looking mate.
"I guess. I wasn't sure until last night. I tried with Janice, but that wasn't so nice... then last night, I thought I'd try with Verona, and I guess it did. Jan gave me the idea when you told her about our communicating. Did I do something wrong?" Alyssa asked Declan, worry clear in her voice.
