"So you and Declan can speak with your minds, huh?" Janice asked as they sat at one of the project tables in Alyssa's class. "Why didn't you share that? That is so freaking awesome! Can you do it with anyone, or just him?"

They had decided to have lunch in Alyssa's classroom for privacy. What Alyssa had to tell Janice sounded crazy, even to her. And she's the one who went through the adventure she was about to share! She didn't need anyone to over hear them.

"I don't know. Honestly, I haven't tried talking to anyone else. Besides, I really didn't think it was real until last night when I called you. Even then, I didn't want to believe it. It was only when you yelled at me for asking if you were ok and you went all psycho-chick on Kevin that I knew it was real."

"Speaking of that asshole! So what happened? Why did he take you? How did you get away? Are you going to tell the cops? He didn't hurt you did he? Is that where you got the cut on your lip? It is, isn't it? Oh my God, I'm going to kill that fucktard! Where is he now, do you know?" Janice started ranting again.

"Whoa! Calm down there, Mufasa! One question at a time, gosh. Jeez. Shut up and listen and I'll tell you everything," Alyssa cut in before Janice could ramble on anymore. She knew her friend had a tendency to talk non-stop when she was upset.

"Kevin broke into my house, and kidnapped me after he chloroformed me. I woke up in his basement in a dirty room, and he came in and was trying to say he forgave me for leaving his sorry ass three years ago. When I refused to take him back, we started arguing and he hit me until I blacked out. Then I pretended to stay knocked out so he wouldn't come back. I talked to Declan, followed Kevin around for a bit, he's a sick fuck by the way, and tried to figure out where I was and how to get away. I was left alone all day, and when he came back last night, I kinda kicked his ass and locked him in the room he was holding me in. I got home, called you and Declan, woke up this morning, and you know the rest!" Alyssa explained quickly so Janice didn't interrupt.

Janice just sat there is a stunned expression on her face.

'Hmm. She took it better then i thought she would,' Alyssa thought to herself.

"What?!" Janice screeched.

'Damn, spoke too soon.'

"You left that fucker alive? What the hell is wrong with you? He could have gotten out already! Oh my God, he could be waiting for you outside. Or in your apartment! Alyssa you have to go to the police!"

Alyssa could see that Janice was on the verge of a panic attack, and sent out a calming energy to her friend. Immediately, Janice started to settle down and breath. Once she was relaxed, Alyssa took a deep breath of her own. She needed to try and make her feel better.

"I'm not a killer, Jan. You know that. I've been thinking, and yea, I'm going to the police after lunch. And he can't get out of that room easily. I spelled it so the door and walls won't break down while he's mad. He has to be calm before he can get out. And I doubt he'll be calm before tonight. Especially after the beat down he got. He wasn't used to me fighting back. I also warded my apartment so no one can break in again."

"Just be careful, girl. I don't want to lose you. You're like my sister!" Janice cried as she got up and came around the table to give Alyssa a crushing hug. There were years in her eyes at the thought of losing her best friend.

"I promise, Jan. I'll be careful," Alyssa reassured the young woman. Glancing at the clock, Alyssa noted it was almost time for lunch to be over.

"Time to clean up, I guess. Plus I still need to talk to Hodgkin about finding a sub."
