It was a good thing that I stopped Atreus from shooting Luke again and instead made him call the cops para mapadakip nanamin itong ex kong gago. Atreus was beside me all the time na parang ayaw na ayaw niyang mawala ako sa paningin niya.

Lumapit sa'kin ang isang lalaking mukhang sundalo dahil iba nag suot niyang uniporme kumpara sa mga pulis ngayon. With his camouflage pants and a black t-shirt while a dog tag hanging around his neck, his authority was showing even if he didn't even say a single word yet. Tumingala ako sa kanya dahil kagaya ng asawa ko, matangkad siya at malaki ang katawan. Halatang batak na batak ang katawan sa mabibigat na bagay dahil isa siyang sundalo.

"Dr. Villarosa, I'm Gilbert Segovia. The Commanding General of the United States Army Europe and Africa." He offered me his hand for formalities.

Kaagad ko naman tinanggap iyon at nakipagkamay sa kanya habang hindi ko inaalis ang nang-uusisang mga mata sa kanya.

"I, uh... Do you have some questions for me?" Do I am very confused as to why a general of Europe was in front of me? "Pardon me, I'm just confused."

His grim face was blank but still handsome even though he's emmiting a very scary aura around him. Whenever I look into his eyes, all I can feel is fear and it really baffles me.

"I don't have any questions for you, Doctor. I am only here to escort you to your home as per request by the Count."

"The Count?" Bigla namang tumibok ng mabilis ang puso ko nang may maalalang tao. "Can I ask if whom are you referring to?"

"I'm afraid I cannot tell you, Doctor. I am only here to escort you home for your safety."

I glanced at Atreus who was making his strides towards me. "I already have someone who can protect me, General. Thank you for your concern." Though I am still so confused kung bakit ang isang high ranking na kagaya nitong kaharap ko ay sasamahan lang ako sa condo ko for my safety.

"I insist, Doctor."

"But-"

"Let him do what he has to do, Ian." It was Atreus who stopped me from completing my sentence. Tumabi siya sa'kin habang hindi inaalis ang tingin sa heneral na nasa harapan namin.

"Captain Von Doren," It was General Segovia who spoke and greeted Atreus with a slight nod.

"General Segovia, what a pleasant surprise seeing you here."

"It wasn't really a surprise for me, Captain."

Atreus chuckled. "Of course, of course. You and your missions. Tell your boss I said hi even though he prefers my brother over me."

"I will, Captain Von Doren, after I've finished escorting Dr. Villarosa back to her home."

"Sure."

Kaagad naman nila akong iginaya sa sasakyan ni General Segovia. I sat on the backseat while staying silent all the time habang si Atreus naman ay sumampa sa passenger's seat at si General ang nag-drive.

They were talking but I wasn't listening. My mind was only drifting to what happened earlier and to my husband's reaction if he ever finds out what happened. Will he lash out? Be angry at me for being careless even though I wasn't? or for assuming that it was really safe for me to roam around all by myself even at work?
