I was expecting a messy kitchen with wary workers but when I arrived at the kitchen, the chefs were working at their usual pressured pace. Natigilan din ako nang makita ko ang Head Chef ni Aira na si Chef Guineverre Windham na nagtatrabaho rin doon.

What the hell is happening?

Chef Windham noticed my presence. Kita ko ang pagkunot ng noo niya. She might be wondering kung bakit ako naroon sa kitchen kung saan sila naghahanda para sa pagkain ng mga guest.

She said something to one of her chefs before making her way to me.

"Doc? Is there a problem?" She asked immediately.

I smiled shyly before shaking my head. "Uh, no. I was just confused..."

"Confused? What happened?"

"Someone told me that you burned your hand and you couldn't work anymore so I rushed in here thinking that the kitchen might be in chaos..."

"What? Who the fuck told you that?" Kahit na sinabihan na ako ni Aira na matalim din itong dila ni Chef Windham hindi ko pa rin mapigilan na mabigla.

"One of my husband's men." I sighed. "I'm sorry for disturbing your work."

"Not at all, Doctor. I have to apologize for this confusion."

"No, no!" I chuckled. "We were both confuse so no need to apologize. I'll momentarily go back outside to help my husband. You can continue your work now, Chef."

She smiled at me. Hindi ko mapigilan na mamangha dahil ang ganda niya. Guineverre Windham has this serious face that makes her scary and intimidating when working in the kitchen. Tama nga si Aira. Para itong Gordon Ramsay Female version.

"I-"

"Yo, what's up? Saan na ang tangang chef na nagka injured?"

Sabay kaming napatingin ni Chef Windham sa kakarating lang na si Aira. She looked excited dahil sa ngiti niya but when her eyes landed at her superior bigla itong nawala. Her eyes widened as she looked at Chef Windham up and down.

"Akala ko ba injured ka?! Saan na?!"

"And you really want me to be injured? How useless are you?"

"Ang harsh mo talaga! Nag-aalala lang ako sa'yo no!"

"You don't look like one."

"Pakyu ka talaga!"

"That's not the right way to talk to your superior!"

"Edi wow!"

And their banter continued.

Napahinga na lang ako ng maluwag habang nakamasid sa kanila. They really are handful together but they get along a lot. Hindi na ako nabigla kung bakit mahal na mahal ni Aira ang trabaho niya sa restaurant ni Chef Windham dahil inaalagaan talaga sila nito.

Habang naghihintay na matapos sila, biglang may kumalabit sa'kin sa balikat ko. Doon ko nakita ang tauhan kanina ng asawa ko na nagpapunta sa'kin dito.

"You."

"M-madame, I'm sorry for deceiving you. I was only instructed to say those things to you. Please forgive me." Halos lumuhod na siya noon pero mabuti na lang at napigilan ko siya.

My eyes widened with his reaction and words. "Who's the person behind this?"

"It's the boss' brother, Madame."

Damn that Atreus.

"What was his plan for doing this?"

"I don't know, Madame. This is the only thing that he instructed me."
