Aira's sudden wedding proposal for Atreus shit the hell out of me. Alam kong baliw ang kaibigan ko pero hindi ko akalain na ganito pala siya kabaliw!

I was happily clapping for the both of them while they kiss in the middle of the crowd inside the restaurant in a cruise ship where Atreus was working as the captain. I can't believe that the manipulation of my husband between my friend and brother-in-law will come to this point.

I held his hand and looked up to him. May maliit na ngiti na naglalaro sa labi niya habang nakatingin din sa'kin. I smiled at him softly before mouthing 'I love you' and faced the couple again.

"My dear, I'm so happy to finally meet you face to face." It was Mama Faye, the mother of the Von Doren brothers.

Nagbeso kaming dalawa habang ang mga tao sa paligid ay busy na sa pagsocialize habang naghahanda ng pagkain ang mga chef sa kusina para sa celebration ng engagement ni Aira at Atreus. Deimos made all the plans here while we were in the air. I am so amazed at his connections na napapadali niya lahat ang mga plano niya.

"Me too, mama." Niyakap ko ito.

Mama Faye was smiling at me widely. Hinaplos niya ang buhok ko ng marahan.

"I have met Aira years ago as the girlfriend of my youngest son. I was already expecting for the both of them to end up together but they suddenly broke up and I wasn't able to communicate with Aira and Atreus."

That got me curious. "How do you know that they'll end up together, ma?"

"Oh, that!" She giggled upon remembering something. "Her father is a good friend of mine. We work in the same corporate."

"That's like-"

"-Fate?" Tumaas pa ang kilay ni mama sa'kin na parang nanunudyo. "It's the same with you with my older son. Deimos Alexander is the prideful man between them while Atreus is stubborn. I did everything to make them feel my love as their family but Deimos was taken away from me at an early age..." She sighed. Kita ang lungkot sa mga mata niya.

"Is... is this about your husband, mama?"

"Yes, my dear. He took Deimos away at such a young age to mold him to be like him." May galit na emosyon na lumabas sa mga mata ni Mama Faye. "a cold-blooded monster."

"D-Deimos only told me this once pero hindi niya sinabi lahat sa'kin."

She chuckled as if she already expected her son to be like that.

"Deimos Alexander was never the type of a person who liked opening up. He's cold, manipulative, and dangerous. Kung pwede nga lang na umalis siya diyan sa illegal niyang trabaho, pero hindi. He'll probably die before he does that."

"I want him to be safe, Mama. I'm still afraid of his other work but I'm trying to be brave because I trust him."

"Your fear is natural, my dear. It will never disappear. All you have to do is to understand and support your husband. After all, e's doing this for your sake too."

Kumunot ang noo ko. "What do you mean, mama?"

"He'll tell it himself to you, dear." Pinisil niya ang pisngi ko bago siya tumalikod at naglakad papunta sa direksyon ng pamilya ni Aira.

I sighed. Inilibot ko ang paningin ko sa loob ng restaurant. This was actually my first time to set sail on a cruise ship. Kahit may pera na ako, hindi ko pa rin magawang magbakasyon sa mga ganitong setting. I can afford it but my work in the hospital takes all of my leisure time for a vacation. Lalo na ngayon na kakabalik ko lamang dito sa Seattle tapos ngayon sinamahan pa namin si Aira dito.
