Elizabeth’s POV
I am beyond pissed right now. Who do these guys think they are barging into my life and thinking they control me. I’d like to spend the rest of my summer with actual friends not people I’m forced to be around. I think about this and many other thoughts as I drive home. I considered turning around and going back to Luke’s but then the boys would come right back. I pull into my driveway and get out of my truck. I almost made it to the door without the guys noticing then, I could’ve easily locked myself in my room.
“Elizabeth stop.” Dana said.
“Why should I?” I asked him.
“Because this isn’t you. This isn’t who you are.”
“What are you trying to do make a scene out of some romantic movie? Maybe I’m not that little girl you left behind, but you aren’t the same guy I let leave either,”then Cole got out of the car, “don’t even start talking Cole. You and your overprotective jealous butt aren’t ideal either. Y’all just have to face the fact you aren’t the only guys in my life and I have other friends too.” I said before I ran into the house locking myself in my room and crying. I got weird looks from Will, Gabe, and David but I just kept running to my room. I sat in my room and cried myself to sleep. The boys would try to come in every now and then but I would just ignore them. When I woke up it was 6 am. I decided to go for a swim because the boys were still asleep. I put on my bikini and grabbed a towel. When I walked outside it was warm just like every other summer morning. I quietly got in the pool not wanting to wake up the boys. I set my phone on the side of the pool. I layed there for a minute and just relaxed. I heard the screen door shut and I went underwater, well mostly, I kept my eyes above so I could see who it was. When I looked towards the door I saw David.
“Hey David,” I said standing up in the water.
“How long have you been down here?” he asked.
“Like 10 minutes. Where are you going?” I asked David. He told me he was going for a walk on the beach before hitting the gym.
“Mind if I tag along,”I said as I got out of the pool.
“Yeah, no problem.”
“No one else is coming, are they?”
“Nope, just me,” he said smiling.
I slipped on a big Tshirt I had brought down and we started walking on the beach. We got back to the house around 8 but, when I went to get my phone it was gone. I checked the bottom of the pool, all of the chairs, everywhere but it was gone. I walked inside after I gave up trying to find it and I saw Dana and Cole on the couch looking at one of their phones. Wait. “That’s my phone!” I yelled as I reached for it.
“Talk to us and we will give it back.” Dana said.
“I think I made it clear I didn’t want to talk to you,” I said snatching my phone out of his hand. I ran up to my room and put on some workout clothes. After I pulled my hair up I heard my door open.
“Can I help you?” I asked rather rudely without looking up from tying my shoes.
“I was just checking to see if you were ready.” I heard David’s voice say.
“Oh, yeah, sorry I though you were someone else.” I said as I hopped up and grabbed my phone and head phones.
“Ready.” I said with a big smile on my face. We pulled up to the gym and I started my regular workouts. About halfway through my phone started ringing. I stopped my workout and answered the call without seeing who it was.
“You actually answered,” the familiar voice said through the phone, “I miss you.”
“Luke, I can’t, I’m sorry, plus Cole is going to kill you if you come around.” I said to Luke, but it wasn’t my Luke. It was LA Luke.
“I love you and I’m coming to see you.” he said
“I’m not telling you where I am.” I said bluntly. I was already in enough drama with Cole, I didn’t need anymore.
“I’ll find you then.” he said.
“Good luck.” I said then ended the call.
“Hey David, are you about ready to go?” I asked him.
“Yeah, its 4 in the afternoon.” he said and I looked at my phone in disbelief. I hopped into the car and we started driving home.
“David, could you drop me off at Luke’s?” I ask. I really didn’t want to go to back to the house and see Cole and Dana.
“Sorry, I can’t Dana would kill me and Cole would help.”
“But...” I started but David cut me off.
“No buts.” he said.
“I do too have a butt.” I mumbled loud enough for him to here.
David laughed and we continued on to my house. When we pulled up to the house I hurried in in hopes that I could avoid Cole. I got my hopes too high. Before, I could make it up the stairs Cole grabbed my wrist.
“Can we please talk?” he asked and he sounded like he had been crying.
“I don’t know. Can we?” I asked rudely. I don’t even know where this side of me is coming from I have never acted this way before.
“Please Elizabeth. We need to talk this out.” he said as tears brimmed his eyes.
“Fine.” I said and pulled my wrists away from him. I started walking up the stairs and he stood at the bottom looking at me.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“To get a shower. Or do you have a problem with that too?” I snapped. Before he could answer I stormed up the stairs and went into the bathroom. I turned some music on my phone and got into the shower. I was singing along with the music and I heard the door open. I thought I locked the door. This is awkward. I guess they have already heard me sing so no need to stop now.
“You have a really pretty voice,” someone said but, it wasn’t a guys’ voice.
“Um thanks. Can I ask who is in here?” I say suddenly feeling awkward.
“Oh sorry I forgot I haven’t met you yet. I’m Alex, Gabe’s girlfriend.”
