Chapter 32

Elizabeth’s POV

“Would you mind maybe getting out so I can too?” I ask Alex.

“Oh yeah that’s fine.” she says then I hear the door shut. I get dressed and wrap the towel around my hair. When I walk into my room Alex is sitting on my bed.

“Now that I’m out of the shower lets have a proper introduction.” I laugh.

“Sorry about that. I don’t get much girl company whenever I hang out with the boys so I just got a little excited.” she says.

“It’s fine,” I laugh, “I’m Elizabeth but, you and only you can call me Lizzie.” 

“Why just me? We really don’t even know each other.”

“Because I like you.” I say hitting her with a pillow. We lay on my bed and laugh together. It was so much fun having another girl around. Gabe walked in the room to “check on us” like we can’t handle ourselves.

“Ooo let’s go for a swim!” I said.

“But it’s night.” she said.

“Who cares?” I ask putting on my swim suit. She laughed and did the same. We ran down the stairs giggling and laughing and I almost didn’t even notice Cole on the couch with his eyes red from crying. I continue to run outside with Alex but, I can’t get  Cole out of my head. I turn on the music in hopes that it will clear my thoughts. It worked for a little while before Alex checked my phone for me.

“Who is LA Luke?” she asks reading my phone screen.

“What did he say?” I ask in a panic as I got out of the pool. I grab my phone and look at the message.

From: LA Luke

I found you

I set my phone down on the chair next to me.

“Is everything okay?” Alex asks me.

Should I tell her? I barely know her but, I have to tell someone.

“SoLukeisthisguyandImethimwhilewewereinLAand-” Alex cuts me off there.

“Calm down, take a breath and say it again. Slowly.” she tells me.

“Luke is this guy I met while we were in LA and we may have gone on a few outings. I wouldn’t call them dates but, we got super close, like super close and then he kissed me and I almost liked being with him more than I liked being with Cole. Earlier today he called me while I was at the gym and said he was going to find me and I hung up on him.” I tell her.

“Wait so you cheated on Cole with Luke?” she asks.

“It wasn’t intentional. It just kinda happened.

“Wow,” she says sitting next to me, “does Cole know?”

“He knows about everything that happened in LA but I haven’t told anyone about what happened today.” I confess to her.

“You need to tell someone. Besides me,” she says, “If he can stalk you to where you are there is no telling what else he can do.”

“You’re right,” I say standing up, “Let’s go.”

We walk inside and I can hear the guys in the music room. I slowly turn the door knob and they all turn around and look at me.

“Cole, can I please talk to you? Alone.” I ask trying not to make direct eye contact with him. He gets up and walks out of the door and up to my room with me next to him. Before I could talk Cole did, “I miss you Elizabeth. It’s killing me to see that beautiful smile of yours and not break down.” He says with tears brimming his eyes

“I miss you too Cole.” I say looking down at the floor because seeing him cry puts me in pain.

“Theres something I need to tell you though,” I say looking up.

“Is everything okay?” he asks in a panic.

“Not exactly” I say, “Luke, your ‘friend’, called me earlier today and said he had to see me and he was gonna find me and he texted me a couple minutes ago saying he found me and I’m scared Cole.” I say with tears running down my face. I looked at Cole and couldn’t tell if he was mad at me or Luke.

“What are we going to do?” I ask sniffling.

“I’m not letting him take my girl again.” Cole says through clenched teeth. “Pack your stuff, we are leaving for a couple days.” he says then walks out of the room. I start packing some of the essentials. After I packed I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs. 

“Phone stays here,” Cole says.

“What? Why?” I ask.

“That’s how he’s tracking you.” Will explains.

“Fine.” I say setting my phone down on the kitchen counter.

“Be careful.” Dana says giving me a tight hug.

“Psshhh when am I not careful” I joke back.

Dana laughs and then me and Cole get into my truck and leave. We go to a huge hotel a couple towns over. Once we check in Cole takes my bags and carries them up to our room. Saying the room was huge was an understatement. There was a freaking hot tub in the middle of the room.

“Oh my gosh this room is amazing!” I say as I fall back onto the bed.

“I’m glad you like it,” Cole chuckles.

“Cole, I’m sorry for anything and everything I’ve done this past month. Can we please put it behind us and move on?” I ask as I sit up on the bed.

“Elizabeth,” he says walking towards me,“ I would love that.” I smile and give him a kiss on the cheek.

I don’t know about you but I’m about to get into the hot tub.” I say getting up and going to my suitcase. I change into my swim suit after I order Cole to turn around so he won’t peek and then I get in. Cole turns on the TV and then sits on the floor behind me and massages my shoulders. After about 30 minutes I decide to get out. I change into my pajamas and lay down on the bed while Cole takes a shower. Once he gets out he puts on sweatpants and lays in bed next to me with his head on my stomach.

“I love you Pendery,” I say running my hand through his wet hair.

“ I love you more,” he says leaning up  and giving me a kiss on my nose.

“You missed.” I say leaning towards him. I give him a peck on the lips and then we fall asleep watching TV.
