Chapter 26

Elizabeth’s POV

I moved out of Cole’s arms. 

“What’s wrong?” he asked with a concerned look on the face.

Us, we are what’s wrong, the secrets, the lies, everything I thought to myself.

“Nothing I’m fine.” I say despite the voice in my head.

“Are you sure?” he asks realizing how I was dressed he asked,”Where are you going?”

“Nowhere.” Lies, all lies.

“Okay.” he said and laid back down into the bed. I walked out of the room and outside on my way to the Starbucks.

When I got to Starbucks I saw the person I came for.

“There you are.” he says hugging me tight.

“Luke, I’ve missed you.”I say looking up at him.

“Oh my god what happened?” Luke asked, I gave him a weird look, “Your cheek.”

“Umm...” I trail off.

“Who did this to you?” he asked concerned.

“Cole,” I whispered very quietly.

“When?” he asked, he was starting to get mad.

“Calm down. Last night Cole walked into the house drunk and we started arguing and he hit me.” I said in a small voice.

“Are you okay?” Luke asked running his fingers over my bruised cheek.

“I’m fine, I grew up with a bunch of boys this is nothing.” I say with a small bit of laughter in my voice.

“As long as you’re okay.” he says putting his forehead on mine.

“Luke,” I said with a small voice, “there are people around.”

“Oh yeah,” he said, he sounded very disappointed, “can we go somewhere where there aren’t any people?” he asked.

“Sure,” I said grabbing his hand and we walked out of Starbucks.

“So, how much longer are you in LA?” Luke asked as we walked down an alley.

“About one more week,” I said with the smile dropping from my face.

“Oh,” he said as we made our way to the back entrance of a store.

“Where are we?” I asked.

“It’s a place I found a couple years back,” he says as he opens the door.

“And nobody knows about it?” I asked while we walked in 

“Nobody, it’s a complete secret,” he says as he closed the door, “which means we are all alone,” he says as he pulled me closer. He closed the small space in between us and  crashed our lips together. Everything felt so wrong but, so right at the same time. I should’ve pulled away and said this was wrong but I just couldn’t. The kiss carried on getting more and more heated.

“I love you,” he said in between breaths. This kiss carried on forever and neither one of us could stop. We were interrupted when my phone went off. I looked down and I had 10 missed calls 6 from Cole, 2 from Dana, and 2 from an unknown number and 37 messages. 

“Looks like you are pretty popular.” Luke said as I got another call from Cole.

“I should probably answer him.” I say as I slide my finger across the screen.

“She’s probably not going to answer anyways,” Cole’s voice said, “Oh my gosh, Elizabeth are you okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine.”

“Where are you. I’ve been worried.”

“I’m somewhere and why”

“Because I love you please come back.”

“Cole,” I started, “fine I’ll be home soon.” I hung up and looked at Luke.

“I’m sorry.” I said looking at him with a sad face. I honestly would rather hang out with Luke but, Cole was my boyfriend. Luke walked me to the Starbucks and I walked the rest of the way home by myself. We couldn’t risk anyone seeing us together especially the guys. When I walked in the door Cole jumped off of the couch and ran towards me.

“Are you okay? Who were you with? Why did you just leave? Where did you go? Do you still love me?,” Cole was spitting out a million questions.
