A Year with IM5

Chapter 4

Cole's POV

I wake up to water being thrown on me and Elizabeth. Followed by the laughter of Will, David, Gabe, and Dana and the scream of Elizabeth as the cold water hit her body.
"Y'all are so dead'" me and Elizabeth said as we got up and started chasing them around the room.
"Here," Elizabeth said tossing a nerf gun my way.
"You randomly keep nerf guns around the house?" I asked as I started shooting at Will.
"Yup, why do you not?" she said back.
We all just started laughing until we had no more breath left. Me and Elizabeth took turns with the shower and got ready to go to the mall. She needed a new dress for the concert and we all needed outfits for her end of the year masquerade. First, we stopped at Wet Seal where Elizabeth found a cute one shoulder white dress that came to her mid thigh. It was tight but not overly tight. Then we all went by a local formal shop and got our outfits for the masquerade. Elizabeth got a long slim dark red dress with beading at the top. I just happened to get the same color bowtie to go with my suit, Dana got a bright red, Will got black, Gabe got green, and David got a deep purple.
"We need masks," Elizabeth said.
"We all grabbed plain masks then got paint to decorate with, and of course sparkles and rhinestones for Elizabeth, and feathers don't forget the feathers. We got back to her house and painted the masks. After that Elizabeth took everything for her mas to her room and said no one could see it until the night of. About an hour later she came back down but she looked different, what was it? Glasses, she was wearing glasses.
"Whatcha doing?" I asked her.
"Studying," she said "give me a word problem." She plopped onto the couch next to me.
I gave her a word problem and she answered it correctly.
"See you can do it. I knew you could." I say giving her a big hug.
"Cole"
"Yeah"
"Will you come to school with me tomorrow?"
"Is that a date?" I joke back.
"If you want to call it that sure but keep in mind I still have my 'boyfriend' "
"Oh yeah" I say remembering what is keeping us from being together.
Then out of nowhere she plus us together and crashes her lips on mine. Sparks flew everywhere that was until Will and Gabe came in yelling "Get a room!" Apparently Elizabeth was feeling like messing with the guys and so I played along.
"Well, if you want us to go to the room then don't interrupt," she said and may I say she sounded sexy. Then she pulled me by my collar up into her room. Once we got in the room we just sat there on the bed quietly and sure enough a minute later there were footprints coming up the stairs. Elizabeth started laughing so I put my hand over her mouth but that added some tension. Then just to mess with them even more we walked into her bathroom and turned on the shower.
I don't know what was funnier when Dana came busting through the door or when he looked embarrassed when we were just in the bathroom on our phones still fully clothed.
"I told you I was going to get you for making me watch The Exorcist." Elizabeth said to the boys. Me and her just looked at each other and started dying laughing.
"But what about Cole he voted on it too," Dana said.
"Yeah but Cole stayed up til the end of the movie."
"You have to admit y'all believed it though," I said.
"Well yeah after your little make out session on the couch it makes sense." Gabe said.
"Wait, y'all were having a make out session!" Dana yelled. He was mad.
" I wouldn't call it making out it was more like this," Elizabeth said pulling me into another kiss just like earlier.
"And in all defense they told us to go to the room." I said after we stopped kissing.
Dana got so mad he had to leave just leaving the five of us in the room. Elizabeth went to go talk to him but we convinced her to let him cool down first.
Elizabeth then shoved Will, Gabe, and David in the bathroom and told them and me not to come out until she said so. When she came back and opened the door she was in a hoodie, sweats, and tennis shoes.
"I'm going on a walk," she said " and if any of y'all care to join me I will be leaving in 5 minutes."
Me and Will decide to go and we get dressed. When we come out she had already walked out the door. Crap now Dana is going to be even more mad because we let her go without one of us. We run out of the door and run down the street catching up with her.
"Why would you do that? What if Justin came out while you were alone?"
"I haven't passed his house yet plus he does his walks earlier than this."
"Okay, where are we going"
"It's a surprise"
"Last time you took me somewhere as a surprise we pranked the guys."
"That wasn't funny," Will said.
"We found it funny," I said.
Next thing I know it we are on a pier watching the sunset.
"It's gorgeous," Elizabeth says.
"Not as gorgeous as you," I said and kissed her on her forehead.
"Guys, we all know I'm the most gorgeous," Will said from behind. I forgot he was here. Oh well.
"Cole, let's go," Elizabeth said.
"No I wanna watch the whole sunset."
"Cole, please can we go"
Before I could answer someone else was talking. "No it's ok. I like spending time with my girlfriend but, I don't think we've met. I'm Justin, Elizabeth's boyfriend"
"I'm Cole and you shouldn't be talking to her"
"and I'm Will, get away from her."
"Why should I get away from MY girlfriend?"
"Because I'm not your girlfriend anymore," Elizabeth said holding my hand a little tighter.
"Excuse me but do you not remember the other night?" He says rather rudely.
"I do but now I'm saying I'm not your girlfriend anymore"
" We'll see about that. Chris, Daniel c'mon."
When two more guys walked out from the woods Elizabeth held onto me even tighter.
"Please Justin don't do this, don't hurt them," Elizabeth pleaded.
"Sorry babe, it's too late for that" he says walking our way.
I look over and Will is next to a tree holding his stomach then Elizabeth steps in between me and Justin.
"Please," she begs almost crying. But just like she was a doll he slaps her face so hard she falls into the water then keeps heading towards me.
Just like a miracle Elizabeth's friend drives by and as weird as it sounds he was a cop in his late 30's but what do you expect from the police chief's daughter. He immediately calls for backup the runs and gets Justin before he can touch me. Then backup arrives. I dive into the water to get Elizabeth because she is having a hard time swimming back. An ambulance pulls up and checks out Will and Elizabeth they are both fine so we decide to walk home.
