Chapter 33

Cole’s POV

I missed Elizabeth but, after what seemed like forever I finally have her back. I’ve missed the feeling of holding her in my arms. 

I was waken up by Elizabeth.

“Cole, Coollee, Wake up!” she said jumping on the bed.

I rolled over and grabbed her ankles making her fall down on the bed next to me. 

“Ow!” she said as she hit the bed.

“That didn’t hurt.” I said laughing.

“I’m bored already Cole.” Elizabeth sighed.

“Well we can’t go out of the hotel for a while unless you wanna be crowded by fans.” I told her.

“Hide-n-Seek around the hotel!!!” She said jumping up again.

“Fine, but breakfast first.” I said. We got dressed and ran down to get breakfast. Elizabeth piled her plate with food. God, how is this girl still skinny?

“Hey keep your thoughts to yourself!” Elizabeth said. Crap I said that out loud.

After breakfast Elizabeth told me I had to find her first then she ran off. I waited 5 minutes before I started looking around the hotel. I found her in the stairwell. We played hide-n-seek for a while before it started to get boring. We watched TV until 10pm when Elizabeth fell asleep cuddled into my side. The next couple days we just laid around the room and watched TV. We had the guys bring over her keyboard and song book and she would occasionally sing a song.

“Coollleeee.” Elizabeth whined.

“What?” I mimicked her.

“I wanna go shopping.”she said.

“Really?” I asked. Elizabeth wasn’t the kind to normally like shopping.

“No, I just don’t wanna be in the hotel anymore,” she said, “I wanna go home.”

“Two more days.” I reminded her.

“Can we go to the movies?” Elizabeth asked giving me puppy dog eyes.

“Fine.” I say giving into her cuteness.

“Thanks I love you babe,” she said as she kissed my cheek before getting ready. When we got to the movies we bought tickets for Cinderella but ended up theater hopping. We come “home” around 8 before we could make it to the elevator a security guard stopped us.

“Mr. and Mrs. Pendery?” he asked. Elizabeth blushed at what he called her.

“Yes sir?” I asked.

“Did you have anyone that was supposed to meet you at your room?” I looked at Elizabeth and she turned white.

“I know who it is but he is not welcome.” I said walking off. We hopped onto the elevator and I looked at Elizabeth.

“He found us.” she said barely audible.

“It’s going to be okay.” I said pulling her into a hug.

“What are we going to do?” she asked with tears threatening to fall.

“We can’t go home that’s what he expects us to do. I have some gang ties down here I can probably get us somewhere to stay-”

“Gang? No Cole I can’t.” Elizabeth said as she cut me off.

“It’s the only way for you to be safe” I tried to explain to her.

“Safe and gang don’t hear those together too often.” she said back.

“Please?”I ask kissing her forehead.

“Fine.” she caved in. I made a couple phone calls and finally got a place to stay at a close gang’s house.

“Here,”I said handing Elizabeth my red bandana, “Keep this on you and visible at all times” She looked scared but put it on her wrist anyways.

“Oh and you might want to wear this too.” I said sliding a ring onto her middle finger. Elizabeth held up her hand looking at it and smiled at me. I hopped in the shower while Elizabeth started packing our things. When I came back out I saw she had put the necklace back on too. I stared at it around her neck for a little while until she said, “Crap, I should’ve asked you before I put it on I’m sorry.” as she reached back to undo it I stopped her. “No, keep it on.”

We finished packing and loaded everything into her truck and I drove to the house. I was close with Marcus, the leader of this gang, and most of the people knew me. We pulled up and I told Elizabeth to stay in the car and lock the doors until I came back. I got out of the car and almost immediately two big guys walk out the front door.

“It’s me, Cole from LA. Marcus is expecting me.” I told them. They walked me inside the house and Marcus was right there.

“I thought you had your girl with ya?” he asked.

“She’s out there waiting.” I said.

“Bring her on in.” He laughed.

I walked out to the truck and tapped on Elizabeth’s window. She unlocked the door and I opened it.

“C’mon follow me.”I tell her helping her out of the truck. She does say a word but I can tell she is nervous so I put my arm around her waist. We walk back into the house and Marcus isn’t there anymore. I hear someone walking around the corner but the footsteps are too heavy for anyone here I know. I backed Elizabeth into the corner and pulled out my gun pointing it towards the corner. A guy I have never seen before came around the corner and before I could say anything I heard Marcus say, “he’s the newbie. He’s all good.” I put my gun back into my pocket and walked up to the guy. He was obviously shaken up but he needs to get used to it.

“Cole, leader of a LA gang,” I introduced myself, “Who are you?”

“Ronnie,” he said, “who’s that sexy looking lady?” he asked motioning towards Elizabeth.

“My girl. Hands off.” I said. While Ronnie was walking away I said,”Hey future tip, don’t walk so heavy.And never ask about my girl.”
