Amari's P.O.V.

I was sipping my sparkling cider and conversing with my family at our private table. My mother's seat was vacant and Chris was taking too long in the bathroom. Knowing his stanky ass he probably taking a shit.

I sighed heavily and took a big gulp of my sparking cider. I should go check on him and make sure everything is okay.  As soon as I got up from my seat I got a text from him.

Text from Breezy Baby Daddy:
I'm fine babe just dropping a deuce 🤣

I sat back down in my seat. I knew it.  Dinner was being served soon, his food was going to get cold. I replied okay to him and turned to converse with Justin and Estelle.

Chris P.O.V.

The man that caught me eavesdropping was sizing me up and blocking my exit. I was just going to have to find a good lie because the door to the room was opening.

"Christopher?" I heard Amari's mother call out.

"Whoever the hell this is, he was listening to your conversation pretty hard. What do you want me to do to this nigga?" The man said to her mom.

"Fuck! Chris I can't let you back into that party. Why the hell are you back here anyways.....you know what I don't give a fuck. Martin give him the usual." She said coldly then walked away.

"Wait I didn't hear anything. I was looking for the restroom." I said as Martin grabbed me and pulled me in the opposite direction she was walking in.

"Don't lie. I know you're going to tell Amari everything and I can't risk that. She can find a new fiancé. I can't risk losing everything and starting over. You'll see her in the next life maybe." She said turning around. When she was finished the bitch laughed and walked off.

I tried breaking out of Martin's grip but just when I thought I could slip out, another man appeared and grabbed my other arm. I felt like I had been punched in the gut a hundred times. I can't die without seeing my baby or marrying my fiancé.

For the first time in a while I just let the tears run down my face and continued to fight.

Eventually they pulled me outside into an alley behind the venue. It was an old van with blacked out windows (how cliche) and threw me in the back. Martin climbed in and wrapped zip ties around my wrist and ankles. To make it worse he gagged my mouth so I couldn't call for help.

I tried kicked him with both my legs but he recoiled and punched me in my head super hard. My vision went blurry and eventually I passed out.

Amari's P.O.V.

It was time for the dessert coarse and I was looking everywhere for Chris. I had Justin calling him because he wasn't answering my text or calls. I had Estelle accompany me looking for him.

People working in the restrooms told us the never seen Chris go in or even near this hallway.  As I left the bathroom corridor and went back to the ballroom, I was distracted trying to dial Chris again and almost ran into someone.

"Oh sorry."

"Pay attention young lady."

"MOM!  I've been looking for Chris everywhere, he isn't answering his phone. The bathroom attendants said he was never there."

"Oh I saw Chris. He left to go back to the house. Something about not feeling good. He told me to tell you that his phone died." She said.

I never wanted to call my mom a liar but something in this didn't sound convincing. I'll just ask Chris myself when I see him.

"Okay thanks mom. I'll grill him later. I might leave early to get him some medicine or buy some tea or something." I told her.

"Ok." With that she walked away.

Martin watched as Chris passed out and then grabbed his phone. He replied to Amari and turned it off, stomping it on the ground.

After he climb into the drivers seat he pulled off. After driving for about 15 minutes he approached the highway.

"The usual." He muttered.

Grabbing a large cinder block and replacing his foot with it.

Such an inconvenience." He said jumping out the van.
