(So, I totally realized that I failed to mention that I got two Betta fish for my birthday a while ago so that's the pic. Their names are Chloe (Blue) and Rachel (Red). Lol. Also female Bettas are totally cool together, they won't fight or anything. They get in little arguments sometimes and chase each other around but no one ever gets hurt. Except for the one time Rachel chased Chloe until she ran into the side of the tank. But she was okay. Thank god. I've been looking around for another Betta so I can also have a Max but the search has been surprisingly difficult. Also beware I will talk about my fish nonstop if you'll listen. I'll stop now. Sorry not sorry. Now on to the actual fic)

There was a bright flash of light and Max whipped around in complete panic taking in her surroundings frantically. Chloe noticed Max stop and slowed to keep pace with her. Rachel also noticed and stopped at the top of the stairs leading to the dorms.

"Max?" Chloe asked.

Max couldn't breathe. She gasped for air as she frantically continued to look around.

"Max!" Chloe said.

Chloe reached for Max's hand and closed her hand around her wrist.

"Max are you-"

"NO!" Max screamed.

She desperately tried to pull herself away from Chloe and when Chloe noticed she let go of her wrist immediately and looked to Rachel for help.

"Hey Max, lets go sit down." Rachel said softly.

Rachel offered Max her hand and Max looked up with wide eyes. She locked eyes with Rachel and there was a flicker of calm on her face as she lowered her hand into Rachel's slowly.

"What a psycho. Can't even walk into a building without loosing her shit." Victoria said from behind the group.

"Fuck off Victoria." Rachel said.

Chloe flipped her off for good measure and glared at Victoria over her shoulder as she followed Rachel and Max to a nearby bench. Rachel sat down with Max and Chloe took the spot on Max's other side. Max continued to struggle for air.

"Max. Hey, it's okay. Breathe." Rachel said calmly.

Max tried to take a deep breath and shook her head, her eyes still wide with panic.

"Square breathing Max, breathe in.. hold it... breathe out.. hold it... breathe in.." Rachel said.

She guided Max through the breathing until she started to calm down a bit.

"Okay, good. See, you're okay." Rachel said. "Can you name five things you can see?"

Max glanced around the courtyard.

"Theres a squirrel by that tree. Theres Justin surrounded by a cloud of pot smoke. Theres a bird on top of the Tobanga. Theres Kate and her rabbit on the lawn, and theres Samuel fixing the sprinklers." Max said slowly.

"Good. Now four things you can feel." Rachel said.

"I can feel your hand on my hand. I can feel the sleeve of your flannel. I can feel Chloe leaning against me. I can feel the breeze on my face."

"How about three things you can hear?" Rachel asked.

"I can hear birds chirping, the clang of a tool on the sprinklers, Justin laughing."

"Good. Two things you can smell?"

"A vague scent of weed." Max said.

"Thats probably Chloe." Rachel said, making Max laugh.

"And.. your perfume." Max said.

"And last but not least. One thing you can taste."

"Uhhh.." Max looked around.

She met Rachel's eyes and shrugged, leaning in for a kiss. Rachel kissed her back softly and pulled away.

"I can taste... Mango?" Max asked.

"My chapstick. Yeah." Rachel said, laughing.

Max laughed too.

"You all good Max?" Chloe asked in concern.

"Yeah. I'm okay now." Max said. "Kind of exhausted actually. Thanks guys."

"Of course. It's what we're here for." Rachel said.

"Now lets go inside and smoke weed and take a nap." Chloe said excitedly.

Max and Rachel laughed and followed her into the dorms.

This is one of those 'drabbles' I wrote. This one isn't as short as the others but still kind of short (some are ridiculously short though.) I think I'm going to post them on this book because it's just easier to not make and work on a complete other one. Also the techniques used in this are actual strategies my therapist taught me for anxiety attacks. (They're called square breathing and the five senses if you're curious and want to learn more.) Anyway. I hope you enjoyed! Have a great day/evening!
