(Pic is of a little graffiti I did from the top of a dam. I saw the opportunity, went "oh my god my readers will love this." And did it. Lol.)

"I think I may like girls..." Max said at barely a whisper.

Rachel caught her eye and set her drink down.

"Oh my god, Max thats great!" Rachel said cheerily.

"-and then I- wait what?" Chloe stopped in the middle of saying something.

Rachel rolled her eyes.

"If you could keep it down for more than five minutes maybe you'd notice when Max tells you something important." Rachel said jokingly, leaning back on Chloe. "Go on Max, Chloe promises to listen this time."

"I think I like girls.." Max said again.

"Really?" Chloe said, sitting forward and almost knocking Rachel over.

Max nodded.

Chloe whooped.

"Welcome to the gang Maxaroni. Now that you're a baby gay I can impart my wisdom to you." Chloe said.

Max laughed.

"First pride parade is gonna be bomb. You'll see, Rachel and I will take you." Chloe said, leaning back again.

Rachel reached up and moved a stand of hair out of Chloe's face, smiling happily up at her. Max's stomach did a backflip, they were so cute and content together.

"Rule one of gay, you are valid, you are loved, you are awesome." Chloe said.

"That's not a rule, thats just a fact." Rachel added.

"Second, girls can be scary to talk to, but don't worry, you're hella cute." Chloe said.

"Was I scary to talk to?" Rachel asked, looking up at Chloe.

"Absolutely, I was shitting my pants the whole first day we hung out." Chloe said.

Rachel laughed.

"So I guess the next piece of advice is you know she's the right one when you're constantly shitting your pants while around her?" Rachel added.

Chloe nodded.

"Exactly, thats how you know. But just be yourself. Maybe commit arson on your first date. Worked out great for us." Chloe said.

Rachel shoved Chloe playfully.

"Not funny Chlo." Rachel said.

"Okay, so far I've learned that, one, I'm valid, two, girls are scary, three, she's not the right one unless I'm shitting my pants, and four, commit arson on our first date." Max said, counting on her fingers.

Chloe looked thoughtful for a moment.

"Oh! Don't forget to steal wine with her. That ones really important." Chloe added.

Rachel sat up.

"Listen Max. Theres no right way to do things. Love is complicated and strange. But you'll figure it out. The most important thing is to be proud of who you are." Rachel said.

Max smiled.

"Thanks guys. You're the best." Max said.

"Absolutely. If you need a wingman, I'm here." Chloe said, doing finger guns.

"Uh, me too!" Rachel added.

Max laughed.

Max returned to her dorm after Chloe dropped her off. She was relived to be accepted by her friends but her heart felt heavy. She didn't know how to tell them why she realized she was gay. The truth was, Max was in love with both her friends and she didn't know what to do about it. She hated the idea of coming between them. They were a perfect couple and Max would hate herself for ruining that. But she didn't know how long she could stay silent about it.
