(Quick precursor here, this fic is extremely short. It's been sitting in my finished folder for ages and I have no idea where to take it. I considered just deleting it, but I might as well share it with everyone instead)

"Fuck!" Chloe yelled.

She slammed her hands on her steering wheel in defeat and pulled to the side of the road as blue and red lights flashed from behind the truck.

"It's okay." Max said calmly. "Just park and we'll figure it out."

Chloe put the truck in park.

"Oh god oh god oh god." Chloe said.

"Chloe, it's okay. Just calm down." Max said "it's gonna be-"

"I have outstanding parking tickets." Chloe whispered to Max and Rachel as the cop got out of his car.

"Drive." Rachel said, pointing ahead. "I think we can get away if you step on it."

"No." Max said sternly but calmly. "No, we're not gonna do that. I'm sure it's fine."

"Uh, they'll send you to jail if you've left those unpaid for too long." Rachel said seriously. "My dads the district attorney. I would know."

Chloe hit her head with her palm.

"Oh my god. We're idiots." Chloe said.

"What?" Max and Rachel asked at the same time.

"You're dads the district attorney. Just talk us out of this." Chloe said.

"I what-"

"Good evening." The cop said from Chloe's window.

"Good evening." Rachel said, immediately jumping into character. "Officer Barry?"

"Rachel?" Officer Barry asked with a smile. "How's your dad?"

"He's good!" Rachel said. "Finally decided to get out on a date with my mom for the first time in forever."

Max furrowed her brow in confusion. Where was Rachel going with this.

"Ah, well he deserves a break, and I'm sure Rose appreciates it too." Barry said. "Now, I'm sure you girls knew that you were driving well over the speed-"

"Officer Barry. I sincerely apologize, it was a total accident. However, I'm sure that my dad, being the district attorney and all would hate to cut dinner short over this." Rachel said.

Barry furrowed his brow.

"And why would he need to do that?" Barry asked.

"Because, Chloe, being the forgetful person that she is would much rather pay the ticket immediately rather than later." Rachel said, putting emphasis on her words. "And of course would need my dads help and all. Especially considering the speed sign back there was covered by tree branches, making it kind of an unfair ticketing."

Barry looked surprised.

"Oh, I had no idea." Barry said. "Well, I was gonna let you off with a warning anyway. So, just drive safely and the correct speed."

"Or course. So sorry about that. Won't happen again." Rachel said, smiling.

"Well tell your dad I said hello." Barry said.

"Of course." Rachel said.

Barry returned to his car and Chloe rolled the window up and breathed out for the first time in a while.

"Ohthankgod." Chloe said. "I fucking hate James Amber, but you can't lie, he's gotten us out of more scraps than I can count."

Rachel shrugged as if to say 'fair point.'

"Plus, I would really hate for you guys to have to bail me out of jail." Chloe said.

Max snorted in laughter.

"What?" Chloe asked.

"I wouldn't bail you." Max said.

"What? You wouldn't bail me?!" Chloe asked in betrayal.

"Not for parking tickets." Max said.

"Why?"

"Because that's stupid. Just pay them!"

"I'd bail you." Rachel said.

"Are you joking?" Max asked. "You'd be in jail too. For trying to sweet talk a cop!"

"Hey, it worked. Didn't it?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah, this time." Max said. "That's not gonna work for you every time."

"You underestimate the sway my father has in this town." Rachel said darkly.

This was actually inspired by semi real events. My best friend had compiled a ton of parking tickets and was refusing to pay them, it reminded me so much of Chloe and so this idea was born. Lol
