It had been 3 weeks since the Luka incident. No one had heard from or seen him. Alya had been questioning Marinette about what happened. She told her that she had another run-in with him but never specified about what it was. She told her that someone came into the bakery to make an order so he left.
"Marinette, girl. What happened? I know you're hiding something from me and I will get it out of you.
"Nothing happened okay?" She was sick of Alya's constant questioning. She still wasn't ready to tell her what happened. It was hard, every time she talked about it, it felt as though she was reliving it. She didn't want to tell her Adrien had come and saved her. That he spent the night there holding her in his arms.
Alya didn't believe that for a second because after that day her best friend changed. She was starting to become nicer again, she stopped eyeing out 'prey' and even started sassing back at her. It was like she didn't even know who her best friend was anymore. She would keep asking Nino if Mari had told him anything but he never said anything. She was so tired of the secrecy. One day after school she spied on Marinette and saw her talking with Adrien in the hallways. 'Wait, did she actually do it? She actually got him to fall for her.' She thought. Is this why her best friend was different? She watched as the blonde walked away from her and she waved walking back towards Alya's direction. She quickly hid around the corner and started walking out making it seem like she wasn't just spying on her.
"Oh hey Alya!" Marinette shouted out at her.
"Oh uh Hi Mari. I need to ask you something and you better answer honestly!" She grabbed Maris's hand pulling her into an empty classroom.
"Ok ok, what do you want?" Marinette felt like she knew but she would make up a lie. She wasn't ready to tell her about what happened with Luka yet. 'God could she stop asking, I really don't want to talk about it.' Marinette thought.
"Why are you talking to Adrien?" Shit she probably saw her.
"Uh-uh we were just talking about the assignment." Thank god Miss Bustier gave them an assignment to do. She wasn't fully lying, they were talking about it.
"Are you sure that's all you talked about?" Alya kept pestering her. 'No' she thought.
"No Al I'm not lying. Can you stay out of my business please?" Just then her phone dinged. It was Adrien.
"Oh it's my mom, I should probably get home. She's probably worried with Luka still out there." She quickly ran off to her house and Adrien was already waiting there for her.
"Sorry, Alya cornered me. She saw us and I had to make up an excuse. We should make sure no one is around."
"I didn't think that she was still there. At least I didn't kiss you." He smirked.
"That would have been a disaster, only our parents know about us." She so desperately wanted him to kiss her right then and there.
"Why don't we tell anyone?"
"Because you would get attacked for dating me. Just because of my past." She said and her eyes closed.
"Hey, I know about your past. Am I judging you right now because of it? No, I never did."
"Thank you Adrien." They started walking up to her room.
"Make sure you kids keep the door open!" Tom yelled up to them.
"Dad! We're 18!" Marinette yelled back.
"Tom leave them alone, It's okay Marinette do whatever you want to. Just be safe." Sabine said half yelling.
