"What is it?" Adrien just wanted to know what happened to his lady.

"We need OB down here." One of the doctors whispered.

"What's your relationship with her?"

"Boyfriend why?" For some reason, Mari blushed at the word.

"You'll need to leave the ro-"

"No, he stays." She was not about to be left alone in a room full of male figures. The doctor looked at everyone in the room.

"It's okay Mari, I'll be on the other side of the door." He started to turn towards the door.

"No, I can't be alone. Please?" She reached out and grabbed his arm. All the doctors in the room just stared at each other. Their minds running the thought of 'he abuses her'.

"I'm sorry but we can't have an abuser in here."

"What? No he doesn't do that! I just can't be alone with male figures." Everyone in the room just looked at her.

"Her past ex raped her-" he blurted out.

"If he has to leave then either security or a female comes in." They all nodded and let him stay in the room.

"Okay so we can see she just has a lot of internal bleeding that we will have to go into surgery to fix that and the other thing we'll let you know once OB gets down here." Mari knew what that meant but judging by Adrien's face, he didn't know what OB meant.

"Okay what is this urgent page for?" A woman walked in with a small team. Mari saw the pink scrubs and knew who they were. She was ushered over to look at the ultrasound results. Mari saw a wave of shock wash over them. The doctors were whispering to each other.

**TW MISCARRIAGE** (I'm sorryyyy)

"She told us her test was negative."

"False-negative. It happens, let's not tell her yet. We have to get her to do the surgery to stop the bleed. The miscarriage will happen on its own even if we don't go in surgically."

"Can't we stop it?"

"Once we start surgery no. Even now we wouldn't be able to do anything. We just need to get in there and stop her from bleeding out. Whatever happened was strong enough to cause this much damage." All the doctors nodded and told the two what the plan was, keeping the baby part out for now.

Time Skip to after surgery

Adrien sat with Marinette while he waited for her to wake up.

"Sir, there's something you should know before she wakes up." Adrien sat up and looked at the doctor. He took Adrien out of the room to talk, in case she woke up.

"What's wrong?"

"She'll be fine in a couple of days but the other issue we saw on the ultrasound, why we needed OB."

"What was it?"

"She was almost 2 months into her pregnancy. There wasn't anything we could do as by the time OB got down here it was too late. The impact took a toll on it as well. False-negatives happen. It's not impossible but it will be harder if you guys decide to try again." Adrien just stood there shocked, he didn't know what to think. 'I should have protected her better' was all that went through his mind. He felt so numb, not able to cry. He had to be the strong one.

"We can tell her if you don't want to. Just wait until she's more stable if you chose to tell her. "

"No, I will." He didn't want some stranger telling her. They literally just had this conversation earlier in the day and he promised to protect her, but he felt like he failed. The doctor nodded and walked away, leaving Adrien to go back into the room. He didn't know how to tell her. He got an idea and called Alya.
