* Veronica's POV*

"Ma'am, we are under attack!" Vera shouted, barging into my room, without knocking.

She was panting with fear and anxiety, I could feel it. It was vividly written all over her face.

"Calm down and explain." I said as I stopped myself from brushing my hair. Dropping the hair brush on the dressing table, I stood up hurriedly.
Something was wrong, I could feel it.

I was getting worried. Why was I having different mixed feelings and thoughts? I couldn't understand. But that wasn't the main point.

"I apologise for my misbehavior. Please spare me." Vera said in shaking voice as she immediately went down on her knees.

"No need. I understand you. Get up." I ordered as I moved forward to help her. " Now explain."

"Ma'am, we are under an attack." Vera said as tears gushed out.
"It takes only a while before they come over her and kill us all."

good thing Derek's house is large.

"Lexis, you are back! Where have you been ? I really missed you." I said with a smile.

I looked back at Vera and she was looking back at the door, to find who I was speaking with.
Damn, this is awkward.

"Ma'am are you okay?" Vera said wiping her tears off her round face.

"Forget about me. Who are the attackers?" I asked.

"The Balians. Their demons are here to kill us all." Vera proclaimed as more tears gushed out.
"My fellow maids are already dead and some of the vampire guests too."

I almost forgot Derek's house was also a hotel for high ranked vampires.

How strong are this demons that even high ranked vampires can't kill them all. Yes, they weren't so much, but at least.

Where is Derek when all this is happening.

"Where is Derek?" I asked as fear stuck me hard. I couldn't wait for her response. I didn't want to hear what I was feeling.
"what about Justin and Emily?" I was getting terrified too.

"They are out there fighting." She said. I moved swiftly towards the door.

She jumped in front of me, making me stop on my way.

"Ma'am, you can't go out there. You will die." Vera said obstructing my view.

"Get out of my way. It's an order!" I shouted, but she didn't shake. First time she is disobeying my order.

"Sorry ma'am, but I can't let you die. I refuse to." Vera said with bravery in every word.

"Lord Derek will protect me. He will come and save us." I said.
"I need to call Derek to come over. I need him, where is he?" I said running back to the side of my bed to get my phone.

Don't call him. You will look like a scared cat that protect herself, but always depend on others.
Lexis said.

She has a point. I can't always depend on Derek.

Let me out

I knew what they wanted. They wanted me, once they had me, they will leave.

"What are you thinking ma'am. Hurry , we have little time left." Vera said.

"Tell the maids and other servants to hide at the basement. The wine cellar. I'm sure you know where it is." I said in an authoritative tone.

"Yes, ma'am."
