                             *Veronica's POV*

    We both moved to the center . I took off my boots, so I will be able to fight better. He also removed his, I don't know why. Maybe to reduce the effect of his kicks.

"Okay, i'm ready." I said with a smile.

"I will go easy on you, since you are weak. And no cheating. Don't let Lexis out, unless I will automatically win." Derek said with his hands still in his pockets.

"It will not be as easy as you think. I have three belts in karate. It was a compulsory course in college." I said with a smirk on full display.

"Let me guess. You use to fail the course and had to carry over for years, cause the last time I checked it's a first year course." Derek said as his usual smirk showed on his lips.

"Yeah, kinda. But I still got an 'A' after several years of carrying it over." I said in defense.

"The winner is the one who puts the opponent on the ground for three seconds. Okay." Derek said as he removed his hands from his pockets and took the fighting posture and folded his hands into a fist.

"Okay. Let's start." I said as I moved towards him to throw a kick.

    He dodged and gave his. It was painful even when he said he will go easy on me.

"Number 1. Don't be first to attack, rather study first." Derek said with a smile as he moved one of his hands front and back, signifying me to come.

   I moved to him and gave him a kick on his leg. He used his other  leg to kick me on the same spot he had kicked me before. It was very painful and my leg felt weak.

"Number 2. Target the weakness." Derek said.

   I moved closer and realised that his chest,were the Balian's leader shot him may still be hurting him. I moved to give him a punch on his chest, but before I could. He caught my hand and twisted it behind my back.

"Number 3. Use your opportunity quickly and don't get distracted."

   He held my hand and gave me a smack down. It was more painful than the other ones I had received in school.

   He moved on top of me and pinned my hands above my head. I have to fight back. What did my teachers teach me.
I have to prove to him that I am not weak.

    I quickly rose my leg and used my knee to hit his chest after I was sure that it was the right spot where he got injured. It did hurt him, causing him to yelp.

"Number 2. Target the weakness." I said with a smile as I hit him again with my knee.

"Justin is coming." I said so as to distract him and he fell for it and looked. I used the opportunity to push him on the ground and got on top of him.

"Number 3. Use your opportunity and don't get distracted." I said with a smile.

"Zero, one , two--" I was counting down and waiting for him to fight back. But all he did was growl in pain and hold his chest, with the hand I didn't pin down.
I was starting to have pity on him but I must win.

"Number 4. Never underestimate your opponent's strength." I said as I gave my victory dance.

"I won, you lose...."I said as I danced round.

   When a hand pulled me on the ground as I looked at Derek above me. He moved to nearer to my face and moved to my left ear and whispered something.

"Number 5. Don't celebrate too early until the opponent surrenders."

"But I already won." I sprouted out with a frown.
