Chapter 37

* Sebastian POV*

"Sire! An intruder..." my head guard said, banging the door hard against the wall, echoing through the whole hall.

"What? Who is it that dares to disturb my rest?" I said sitting up slowly as I gulped down a cup of blood.

"Let me go!" A loud out out break of shouting and struggle, just outside the terrace, leading to the grand hall.

"Bring her to me!" I ordered in a thunderous tone.

I watched as they dragged a lady through the dark hall, and forcing her on her knees, with the help of two guards.

With a snap of my fingers the whole room was lit up with light, through the fire set up on the candle stands.

"Let me go!" She screamed, yanking her hands off their grip.

I stood up from my golden throne slowly, as I walked the the stairs slowly, my robe flowing behind me, each step a click sound as my staff strike the tiles. I reached her and then stopped few inches away.

She flinched back in fear, and fear I love. It makes people helpless and ignorant of their powers. I stretched out my hand to her face and gripped her chin roughly, yanking it up to meet my gaze.

"How dare you intrude, state your purpose." I said in a commanding tone, as I watched her flinch back in fear, again.

"I am the emperor's adviser, and I'm here to tell you how and where to get veronica.  But first, promise me you will not kill her."
She said and in her eyes I saw jealousy.

"Why will you don't such a thing for any enemy." In her eyes I saw this same eyes, years back. Same eyes of jealousy from my adviser, vivian.

"I dont just want her. I deserve Derek more that she does. We have known each other for years. She cant just come from nowhere and takes him away from me. Anyways I was the real mate, the destined mate..." she said, but I cut her off.

"I guess she is now the new destined mate. Veronica. So all this is about Derek, such an handsome man...I will help you." I said with a smirk.

"But please dont kill her. Promise?"

"I don't make promises. I will see how my emotions lead me. Deal?" I said.

"Deal." She just made a deal with the devil.

Right now, she is making things to easy to destroy savato clan and rebuild it with my demons and conquer all other clans and soon the whole vampire realm. I shall rule.

"Now tell me how to get her." I asked, hiding my smirk.

"I will lure her out, trust me." She said with an evil grin.

"What is your name, child?" I asked wiping her tears away.

"Lola...just lola."

I and Derek were great. I'm so glad that we finally understand each other and ready to face the consequences together. The side of Derek I saw that night was new to me. This Derek broken, like a broken cup medding itself together by just staying in a spot. All ice and cold, like nothing was wrong.

When he was broken when his parents died. And the worst part was, It was partially my fault, because mom was pregnant with me. And yet he promised and made an oath to protect me...the cause of his family death.

I was falling deeply in love with him and because of this love,  I want to protect him,to take his hurt and numb his pain and block out his terrible past leaving only the good memories.
