Eyrie

Just as I was getting ready to say something to her in return, Niall walked in from the cafeteria door at the far end from our table. The curly one came in right behind and I was expecting the third one to make his entry too but he didn't. It did not bother me for more than a moment though. All I could care for was how absolutely handsome Niall was. He looked like a movie star walking in. Actually, he looked even better. It was like my world entered slow motion. I looked at him ruffling his hand through his hair, laughing in his adorable manner and adjusting his glasses once he was done. I wanted to keep glaring at him but Luisa called out and I had to look away.

"So, how do you feel about being here?" she asked.

"Well, things were a little different where I have come from so that's causing a little trouble especially with maths. I'm thinking of asking the teacher to assign someone to tutor me. What do you guys reckon?"

"You should definitely go for it! I mean there's no point getting low grades just because you came from a different atmosphere. I'm sure you'll cover up quick."

"Yeah, I guess." I was about to tell them more about how I found stuff here but I was interrupted. It was my favourite kind of interruption.

"Hey there. I recognized you from across the room. That's pretty fun, eh?" he gave a little chuckle in his full of life voice.

"Hello Niall! We were just talking about you. You should come join us for today's lunch." Lyv spoke up before I could even think of a normal reply. I don't know why but I hoped he would refuse the offer. Probably because I was a blushing mess as always and I did not want him to notice that. But at the same time my heart felt like a balloon. It felt as light as air and as excited as a storm for being around him. I know how ridiculous I sound at the moment but my brain practically stops working when hes around. I couldn't help but smile. I bit my lip to try and conceal it because it was getting wider by the minute and I thought if it got any bigger, my face would break.

Niall being himself, accepted the offer. "Woah! Cool cool. We'll join you for the day. Is it all right with you Harry?" When he said that, I finally gave a detailed look to the other boy. He had extremely curly hair and I liked how they were. Messy and hanging down his forehead a little. He had green eyes and oh, they were pretty but just not as mesmerizing as Nialls were for me. I could get lost in them over n over again. He was such a perfect little person. Okay, not so little but he looked like a cute child and I loved how red his cheeks got from time to time. Wait, hang on a minute! I was supposed to be examining the other one and not Niall. I just kept spiralling back to him. Sigh! Anyway, Harry replied, "What's cool for you is fine by me." in a really quiet voice. I liked the deep, husky tone. So, it was decided. The guy that I adore was having lunch with me on the first day itself!

Lyv and Luisa were sitting across me so they got up and sat beside me to leave space for Harry and Niall opposite to our seats. They both sat down and Niall started eating right away. He looked absolutely carefree and was so focused on his food that I could not decide whether it was cute or hot. Harry on the other hand looked very conscious of his surroundings. Mostly us since he was eating with new people and I figured he either didnt like socialising or took some time to get along. After a little while, he slowly fetched out his lunch box and took a bite. To me though, it felt as if I wasn't hungry anymore. I kept throwing secret looks at the boy sitting across me. Examining one little thing at a time. Luisa probably noticed how foolishly I was blushing cause she gave me a slight nudge and a playful smirk. Being the shy person that I am, my cheeks burnt bright red and I'm pretty sure because I could feel the heat. The silence was kind of a weird thing to have at a table like ours considering the fact that Lyv and Niall both were here.

So, I asked casually, "Where's your other friend from the car?"

Niall thought for a while which was unusual because he seemed like the guy who just speaks up real quick. "Um... He didn't feel like coming to the cafeteria today." he finally said in a suspicious tone.

"So, what have you girls been up to lately?" he asked changing the topic which made me think whether he was lying about his other friend but why do I care. His question was simple and yet, for some reason, I couldn't think of anything to say. The table was quiet for a short minute and then Lyv replied.

"Same old same old. But you should ask Eyrie. It is new for her." she said.

The intention of getting me to talk to Niall was clear in Lyvs expression. Niall expectantly turned his head towards me. I could feel sweat dripping down my back. All the attention that I was suddenly getting was too much for me to handle. The four other people on my table were all looking at me. My heart started to race and I thought I would blurt something stupid out and then hed just think of me as an idiot. My brain was running faster than bullet trains, I swear. I was having hundreds of thoughts rushing in at the same time.

"Well, it was alright. Thanks to the three of you." but just as I said this, I realised there was nothing that I could say to Harry which I thought was rude so I immediately spoke up again looking towards him this time, "Hey, I'm sorry I didn't really get a chance to interact with you."

He looked up from his sandwich, put it down and said, "It's all right. I hope we hang out more." Honestly, I was confused of what to say to him because he didn't seem interested in the conversation.

"Okay so yeah. That's pretty much it. Also, I'm thinking of getting myself someone to tutor me for maths." I said, not expecting a reply.

"I know one! You should ask Liam. He's my one of my closest friends. He's really intelligent and I'm sure he'll be happy to help." Niall said firmly.

"He sounds just like you in that case." I said shyly and he smiled wide. Really wide. Wow! Did he just find my compliment nice enough? He didn't even think I was a freak for flirting. This was going great.

"You can say that I guess. I'm always ready to help. In case you ever need me, just think about me and I will appear before you like god himself." he laughed.

"Thank you. You're really sweet. And funny too." I added.

Just as I finished the sentence, the bell rang and it was time to get to our classes now. It made me feel a little sad. I would have loved to spend some more time sitting here and talking to them all. Nevertheless, we all got up from our seats and waved our goodbyes. The rest of the day went by and I finally got home. I had already told my mom all about the day except for how I fell for a boy, he was not just any boy but still, that would have been too much detail for the first day. So, I directly headed up to my room. It wasn't set up yet but the bed was done and that is the only thing I cared about. I took a shower, got into an oversized t-shirt and shorts which is my favourite outfit for when I'm home and dozed off. I woke up to my mother calling me downstairs. It was almost 7. I knew I overslept and I rushed to the living room, where she was.

"Oh thank god you're finally here! We have guests coming over for dinner tonight. They'll be here at 8. Help me a little in the kitchen first and then get dressed up." she said passing me a look.

I felt so puzzled. "Guests? What do you mean guests? We only just got here. Our house is a mess and how do you already know people around?"

"Don't you worry about all that. We have the living and dining rooms set up and that's all that matters."

"Alright."

I lent a hand in all the left over work and then went up to my room and selected my outfit. It was a normal crop top and body fit grey pants. I tied my hair up in a high ponytail and looked in the mirror. I felt good to go. As I was halfway on the stairs, the bell rang. "Can you get that please, Eers?" my mom shouted from the kitchen. Pretty mad nickname, right?

I ran rest of the way and when I opened the door, my jaw fell open and I went into a state of shock. A good one!
