I had so much planned for the day and I was working tirelessly, wishing for everything to go perfectly. I was barking orders left and right, Harry and Zayn being on the receiving end of them. Everything was arranged with utmost precision and the two boys were a big help. It was going to be an eventful day and no way was I going to let even a single thing be out of place. Not everyday is your boyfriend's birthday, now, is it?

I had decorated the lounge room upstairs, where all of us had spent so much time playing FIFA and other games, and that was where I intended to surprise him. We will probably be spending the rest of the day in my bedroom watching movies, cuddling and maybe even making out. Well, except for the night. We were supposed to have the family dinner tonight and he had absolutely no idea about it. I had already asked his mother to bring clothes for him to which she had agreed easily. All in all, he was clueless and I was exhilarated.

I moved to the lounge room, one last time, to check if everything was good enough before going to get dressed. I walked around, scattering the balloons and curled up some of the ribbons that were hanging down from the ceiling, even though they were perfectly fine. I was feeling fidgety and I wanted to ensure that he was going to like it. It was Niall's first birthday with me around and every single thing just had to be flawless.

I was expecting everyone's arrival in an hour or so, which meant that I had to get going and change. I put on a top, jeans and sneakers and tied my hair up in a high ponytail. Once I was satisfied with how I looked, I went over to find my mum. I had a speculation that she would be watering the plants somewhere. Our house and yards were full of flowers, fruits, trees, grass and what not. I had always been quite impressed by her ability to maintain them all by herself without any help from anyone.

"Mum! Have you decided where you'll be going off to for the day?" I asked when I spotted her near the vases in the living room.

"To Trish's place of course. Where else would I go?" she asked rhetorically.

"Say hello to everyone from my side, then. Well, except Zayn. He will be coming here, anyway," I said and started walking away.

"Wait up!" Mum called behind me.

"Yeah?" I questioned, turning around.

"There are some rules, obviously," she rolled her eyes playfully. I groaned and she took that as a sign to continue. "No drinks. No going near my plants. No littering. No adult stuff when you're alone with Niall and no damage to yourselves or the articles at home," she pointed out.

"Oh come on, mum. I thought you already knew that I'm at least that responsible," I whined. She walked over to me and put her hands on my shoulders.

"Of course, I do. I was just making sure. Plus, Zayn will be here so I'm not really worried," she teased. I gently shrugged her hands off of me.

"Yeah, your darling Zayn," I said grumpily.

Zayn and mum have been doing this for as long as I can remember. They both know perfectly well that I get extremely jealous whenever anyone gets too close to either of them so they always team up and act as if they are closer to each other than they are to me. I have never liked it and even after all these years, I still act up whenever they do such a thing.

My chain of thoughts was shattered when I heard the doorbell go off, making me jump in surprise. My mum chuckled and shook her head from side to side at my reaction. I friskily glared at her and made my way over to the front door. I sneaked a glance through the peephole and broke into a huge smile at the sight of all the three boys waiting on the other side. I quickly opened the door and engulfed Niall strongly in my arms.
