"Let's do this!"

*

It was the first day of school after the summer break. Niall, Zayn, Harry and I were carpooling as always. I was the last one to board the car. When I walked close, I noticed that Zayn and Harry were both sitting in the back seat, leaving the passenger one for me. I smiled at the thought of sitting by Niall's side on such a day.

The weather was sunny and hot. I had put on the lightest clothes that I could find and the same could easily be said for the others. I opened the door and settled in, receiving a chorus of multiple hi's and a sweet kiss from Niall.

The conversation flew around effortlessly. The thought of being back in this car for the purpose of going to school made me think back to Luisa and Lyv. I mean, sure we would still have some common classes, but I hadn't talked to them in a while and I was kinda nervous about it being awkward.

I wouldn't really say that it was their fault we drifted apart. I didn't contact them much, either. I was so caught up and content with the boys that I only ever called them once in a while. Lyv never really picked up, so I stopped trying after a few times. Luisa and I would have a phone call or text each other every once in two weeks.

Heading towards school also reminded me of Jeff. Of course, he too had graduated and he was not going to be there. I was glad that he wasn't a threat anymore, but at the same time, my blood was boiling, thinking about what he had done that day. The topic of him was not brought up ever since Harry and Louis had made up, even though nobody had quite forgotten it.

As soon as the car stopped in the school parking lot, Niall exclaimed determinedly, "Let's do this!"

"We're not going on a mission, Ni." Harry chuckled. I cocked my head to Harry's side, expressing my agreement.

"School is the biggest mission of all, mind you lot. It's the place that literally gives you every sort of obstacle and drama so, yes, it is a mission." Niall explained. The look on his face was so serious that I couldn't help but snigger. He shot me a look at first, but it soon turned into a grin. Typical Niall behaviour.

"We should get in now. We look like idiots, standing out here." Zayn said.

"Of course you'd be the one to think we're idiots for something no one is going to notice." I commented, putting my arm around his neck and walking towards the door. He followed easily.

When I saw Niall and Harry engaged in a conversation of their own, I spoke up to Zayn. "I was thinking about Luisa and Lyv in the car, you know."

"Yeah? What about them?" he asked.

"Nothing specific. Just how our first meeting in so long will go and how I was a bad friend for cornering them just because I had you guys." I answered.

"Hey..." He turned to face me, continuing to walk. "You're not a bad friend. They didn't really try to contact you, either. Now, did they?" he asked rhetorically.

"Well, I guess." I said.

"Exactly." he pointed out. Both of us dropped the topic as we reached my locker. Harry's locker was just a few ones away from mine.

"Alright. We'll meet you guys at lunch." Niall said, leaning in and kissing me shortly. I kissed him back and smiled after he pulled away. He grinned back at me in a way that seems as if he's showing off all his teeth.

"Bye guys." Harry waved at them right before they turned around and left.

"It's so weird not having Liam around. I'll really miss him." I said. I meant to say it as a random fact but I could feel my stomach get uneasy. I really would miss him. Harry seemed to sense my pensive sadness.
