“Do you want to go out or stay in?”
“Shouldn’t you be planning this on your own?”
“Yes but, it won’t be too bad to have your opinion as well.”
“Is your house going to be empty?”
“I’ll take care of that. Tell me what you want.”
“I’d love to stay in then.”
“Alright. See ya.”

Niall ended up planning the date at his house. I always preferred sweet, private space over a fancy restaurant. He seemed to be ridiculously cool about it and ended up making me feel more nervous than I already did. I was supposed to be there at four in the evening. He originally planned to meet at six but, ended up deciding that he wanted to have some extra time to spend. The idea of having the whole house to ourselves seemed too perfect. My mum was alright with it until I returned by ten. I had more than four hours to go by.I hopped up on my bed and opened up my laptop. I needed a way to keep my mind off the evening because I was too excited by the idea of it. I spent a few minutes searching for the perfect movie and when I found one, I plugged in my earphones and leaned onto the pillows behind me. I had a few snacks with me because, who wouldn’t want something to munch on to release some of the jumpiness?
Eating has always been my go to thing whenever I want time to fly by quick and I am pretty sure that I’ve never wanted hours to go by faster than right now. I decided to jam my mind from any further thoughts and fixed my eyes on the screen. I had picked out a romantic comedy. I always loved those kinds of movies. They were the best kind to watch when you did not feel like applying much of your brain. I had made sure to pick the longest one out of the list and it was a little more than two hours when it finally ended. Thankfully, I did not feel the longing for it to end any sooner than it did.
I shut the laptop and lied down, the soft mattress wobbling under my weight. I placed both my hands under my head with my elbows sticking out on each side. I tried to imagine how the evening would be. I felt grateful for the fact that Niall and I were already friends or else I would have been way more nervous and maybe even uncomfortable. I pictured the two of us eating at his dining table, him pulling out the chair for me, taking my coat, offering me everything that is on the table, candles lit around us, dim lights and flowers. For someone who doesn’t like going to fancy restaurants, my fantasies were quite ironic but, that’s not all.
I also imagined the two of us watching a movie with popcorn and my head on his shoulder or maybe, I could sit between his legs, in front of his chest and he could play with my hair. We could also run around the house, laughing and chasing each other or he could play his guitar and sing. He has a beautiful garden as well as a backyard and I wondered how it would be to do something there. There were so many possibilities of what could happen and yet, my make-believe was completely ridiculous.
I took in a large amount of air and let out a deep sigh, swinging my legs over the bed and getting up. I had not given my clothes a thought, yet because I wanted to have something to do when I finally got restless. Now, that I was done watching a movie and imagining absurd ideas, I believed it fit to have a look at my closet.
There were rows of neatly folded t-shirts, tops and all sorts of lowers such as pyjamas, shorts, skirts, pants, jeans and trousers. Dresses, coats and jackets hung from the rod on the top of the closet in all colours. The pictures of my favourite tennis players and band were all over the doors and the back. I slowly started ruffling through my clothes, making sure that I don’t mess it up, trying to find the suitable combination.
