Eyrie
It was finally the last day of the year. I was getting ready for the party at Niall,s. Lyv had converted the party into a formal themed one at the last minute. I scanned through my closet and picked out a red dress. It was body fit with long sleeves and it rested a few inches above my knees. The bandage on my left knee ruined the look but, I did not dare to wear jeans or pants. A little off look was better than being eaten alive by Miss Perfection.
I put on a leather jacket and a bracelet on my wrist. I was still wearing the necklace Liam had given me. It was beautiful and above all, it went well with my outfit. I hoped Niall would not feel offended by it because, as far as I remember, it was precisely the reason the Christmas fight began in the first place. However, he had told me later on that it looked beautiful on me and I should wear it. He said he didn't mind as long as it suited me. It was a really sweet gesture, if I'm being honest.
Zayn was going to pick me up for Niall's house today. I went downstairs and slipped into my black boots. The clothes and accessories put together looked really good despite what I was thinking a few minutes ago. I waited on the couch for him to arrive. I kept tapping my foot against the floor because I wanted to get going now. After about ten minutes of restless waiting, the doorbell rang and I excitedly sprang up. I walked to the door and opened it.
Zayn stood there with a bunch of flowers in his hands, wearing a proper suit and tie. He looked like a gentleman and I could not help but, admire my brother. He was one of the most perfect human beings and the best brother, may I add. He flashed a wide smile, handing me the flowers and bowing dramatically.
"Hey, there." I laughed.
"Hi. Are you ready to go to the party, love?" he asked, offering his hand.
"Definitely. Let me quickly keep these flowers here." I said, setting the flowers aside and taking his hand.
"Today I'm gonna show you how a real man should treat you on a date." he said, proudly.
"Oh really? Let's see then." I laughed.
"I'm honoured to be your first date ever. You look beautiful." he said.
"You look very handsome yourself." I smiled at him.
He slowly opened the door to his car for me and I got in. The evening had just started and I was already loving it. Zayn got in, too and started the car. He played soft music and started driving. It was already dark outside. The late December breeze was calm and cool. The music and the air made for a perfect, short drive. We exchanged a word or two along the way. Once we got to Niall's, Zayn parked his car nearby and held his arm out for me to put mine into. I slowly slid my arm through his, our elbows locked against each others and smiled.
"Let's get going." he said, grinning. With that, we started walking towards the front door. The place was yet to be crowded. It was easy to find the laughing boy. He was standing with Liam, both of them guffawing over something. As we approached them, both of them smiled at us.
"Look at you guys. You look so pretty, E." Liam said. "And you, my man look absolutely dashing." he said to Zayn, bringing him into a friendly hug.
"Thank you, Lima." I said, grinning.
When my eyes landed on Niall, he was looking straight at me. I almost panicked at that, I could not decide what to do or how to act. My fingers automatically started to move against each other. He was wearing a perfect black shirt with black trousers. His blonde hair contrasted the dark colour of his outfit and his face looked like the moon, white and illuminating. His eyes were even more flawless, as beautiful as ever and completely mesmerizing. They had that little shine in them, which always made it hard for me to look away. As our eyes were locked with each others, Niall cleared his throat.
