"Are you sure you are okay?" Mr. Sanders asks as he helps me to my bed. Nathan looks at me worriedly and I feel guilty for making them worried about nothing.
"Yes, I'm fine," I say and Mr. Sanders looks at me and shakes his head.
" I didn't raise him to act like that. Sleep now, we'll know what to do tomorrow." I nod and he walks out.
" Wanna sleep with mummy today? " I ask and Nathan nods, getting into the covers with me. He falls asleep as soon as he got settled in my bed leaving me to toss and turn hoping that I would get some sleep which I did at around One in the morning.
Waking up I find Nathan still sleeping and Theo nowhere to be seen. I sigh getting out of bed. Today I thought I would try and lift Nathan's spirit by going horse riding, changing into jeans and a simple t-shirt I wake up Nathan who opens his eyes the time I mention the word horse. He insists that he would be able to dress himself. I was hoping Theo would join us but I was stupid thinking like that.
I guess I'll have to settle with Quin.
My ass was less sore after applying soothing cream and I was going to have some fun even though part of me wondered where Theo was. On cue, Theo and Emma walk in together, Theo lacking last night's shirt. Emma notices me looking at Theo and she smirks running her hands over Theo's back. Theo pulls away almost immediately and he moves my way, I raise my hand to stop him.
"Nathan let's go," I say walking away.
"Kaylee, I can explain," Theo speaks out and I don't bother to look back.
" Mummy, I'm sorry," Nathan says and I nod plastering a small smile on my face. Getting into the stables I'm met with a shirtless Quin dressing the horses. Looks like he's always shirtless.
"I thought Theo wouldn't let you out of the house after yesterday. " Quin says not even looking our way.
" Well, my knight here wanted to ride one of the horses. " I say and Nathan's face lights up.
" Well give me a few minutes and I'll have both of you riding in no time. " He says.
" Okay." We both say and Nathan grins at me. I swear this boy got my heart at the palm of his hand.
True to his word, Quin got us riding the horses in no time and I was confidently riding it without the help of Quin. My eyes wander around and settle on Theo talking on his phone, his body sagged and I almost felt sorry for him. As if he feels my eyes on him he looks up and our eyes connect I look away riding the other way.
Nathan insists he's tired so I decide it's time to go back into the house to even check on the twins, Quins helps me get down. Once I land on my feet he pulls away, more like he's pulled away by an angry-looking Theo.
"What the fuck did I tell you about touching my wife?" Theo shouts at smirking Quin.
" Wife? Last I checked, you are so busy with the town's whore to even pay her any mind. Like you always do. " Quin says his expression turning serious.
" Don't bring her into this! " Theo warns.
"I will bring her into this whenever and wherever I feel like." Quin retorts.
"What are you two arguing about? " I ask and both men turn to me.
" Nothing," Theo says quickly and I narrow my eyes at him.
"So now she's nothing huh?" Quin asks pushing Theo.
" When you fucked her, was she nothing?" Quin shouts at Theo, who looks away avoiding my gaze.
" Kaylee this man you see here doesn't deserve you. He doesn't deserve anything! " Quin shouts at Theo.
" What are you talking about Quin? "
"Ask him." He points at Theo.
"What is he talking about Theo?" I ask turning to look at him. He runs his hands through his hair looking at me, his eyes begging me to let this go but he knows better. I wouldn't let go.
"Years ago I fell in love with a girl from here, we were inseparable. So one day she told me she's pregnant and I was scared. I was only twenty, I couldn't raise a kid. So, I left. " Theo says avoiding my eyes and I could tell he was lying. His eyes pleaded with me to not push for more.
"How is she related to Quin?"
"She was my sister."
"Was?"
"Yes, after he left she was found in her room. She had overdosed. He killed her." Quin spits.
" Ooh, God..."
" That's the man you are going to marry. A coward, a looser and murderer." Quin shouts and Theo looks away as though someone had slapped him. Quin walks away swearing and cussing.
"Please tell me you don't believe what I said," Theo begs and I nod my head slowly. My mind was all over and it was too much to absorb so I let him lead me to one of the benches overlooking the lake that I didn't even know existed.
"Tell me everything."
