" Can I talk to my son alone, please?" Alexander asks and I nod. I head towards the car, strapping the kids in, Theo and Alexander were now arguing over God knows what. I turn on my phone to text Hazel when the door is pulled open and Theo takes a seat on the driver's seat.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I ask concern lacing my voice.
"Nothing." He dismisses.
"It sure doesn't look like nothing-" I retort.
" Would you just shut up Kaylee! I don't want to talk about it so shut up!" Theo cuts in.
" Calm down, I was just asking. " I raise my hands in surrender. We stay in silence watching Alexander pulling away from the parking lot.
"You know what, get out!"
" You can't be serious Theo. What has gotten into you?"
"I said get out, or so help me God I'll drag you out of my car right now! "
" What's wrong with you? "
" Get out. "
" Daddy... "
" Shut up Nathan. All of you, get out. "
" Okay. " I mumble taking my safety belt off. Getting the twins and Nathan off the car, Theo speeds off leaving us alone. I would have broken down and started crying but I just couldn't, I had three kids looking at me confusion written all over their faces. I needed to get them home, then I can finally talk to Theo without the kids being there.
Hauling a cab, we get in giving the driver Grandma's place.
"What's wrong? You look so distraught." Grandma asks picking up Alessia. I didn't have to say anything, she pulls me into a hug. I pull away to check my phone which has been buzzing for some time now. I see it's Collin, a shiver runs down my body.
"Kaylee, where are you?" Colin asks his voice laced with worry.
"I'm at Grandma's," I say and I hear him release a breath.
" Thank God. Did you hear about Isabella?" Colin asks worriedly.
"No. What's wrong Colin, you making me worried. " I inquire.
"Kaylee, Isabella is out. " I almost drop to the ground, if not for my grandma holding me up.
"What do you mean she's out? She just got sentenced."
"That was a cover-up, her uncle was the judge and she was never sentenced in the first place. She's been hiding, well until today. "
" Colin... "
" Kaylee, she took Theo. He's nowhere to be seen, his car was found at the side of the road barely recognizable. "
" Ooh God... " That did it, I didn't know what happened, but everything just went black.
I wake up, looking around I see I'm in my old bedroom. Alone. Everything comes back to me, I couldn't believe that devil advocate took Theo. If I had been told that Isabella was not in prison earlier, I would have laughed my ass off and said that they were wrong. After all, I had seen her crying and begging me for forgiveness and not to let her go to jail.
Could she have been acting?
If she was out for this long, why attack now? She could have gotten back at us when we were at the ranch. Why now?
Then it hit me, I needed to talk to Alexander. He must have known what was happening.
Getting out of bed I slip on my shoes and I'm out of the door before I could even blink. Hurrying down the stairs, I'm met by a concerned Grandma and Colin talking. When they notice my presence they both turn to me.
" Hey, you should be resting."
"I'm okay. I have somewhere I need to be. "
" You realize that your life is at risk, right? So take bodyguards with you. "
" I'm fine. See you in a while. " I say before stepping out before they could stop me. Getting into one of the cars, I drive off towards the hotel Alexander is staying. Theo had happened to mention it when we were at the ranch. Taking the last turn I notice two SUVs following me, I speed up leaving them behind before getting into the hotel's parking lot. I wait in my car for a while, mentally facepalming myself since I had forgotten to take my phone with me. My mind starts playing different scenarios of how it would end, my palms sweating as I look around the car for anything that I can use to protect myself. I don't notice someone at my door until he knocks, I let out a scream when the person knocks on my window.
"Cool down Kaylee, it's just me." A familiar voice says and I move my palms off my face, to meet eye to eye with Liam. I unlock the door getting out, I jump into his arms. It had been a while since I saw him, last I did he was in the hospital.
"You scared me," I say into his chest. He chuckles before pulling away and staring at me for a while before tucking his hands into his pants nervously.
"Umm.. what are you doing here anyway? I thought I saw people following me." I ask.
"I should ask you the same, your grandma asked me to follow you. It's just me. " He replies fast.
"Liam you weren't in the house when I c-" I ask only for him to cut me off.
"You talk too much." He says taking out a syringe filled with a bluish liquid.
"Liam, what is that?" I inquire moving away from him only to bump into the other three men.
"You know Kaylee, I don't like it when you start talking too much, Ronaldo hold her." One of the men grabs my hand, I try to go pull only for them to hold me even tighter.
"Liam, what are you doing? I thought you were my friend." I couldn't keep the hurt out of my voice. This was Liam, the man I trusted with my life and now he was speaking nonsense and holding a syringe filled with God knows what!
"It's gonna hurt for a while." He smirks moving my way.
"Please...no, Liam," I beg but he just smirks before sinking the syringe into my neck. I let out a scream and the men around me burst out laughing.
"I'll see you on the other side. I have a surprise for you." Liam says as my vision starts getting foggy.
"Help...me..." I murmur out, barely recognizing my voice.
"No one is going to help you, Kaylee, I've been waiting for this time and no one is ever going to stop this from happening. " Liam snarls at my face.
"Take her to the van." Liam seethes.
