Six Months Later (Sorry)
Veronica's POVJughead and I have been together for almost a whole year... again. I feel like I should be disappointed in myself just getting back with him three times. I feel like everybody should be. What happened that made us break up twice. The first time it was Betty and the second time was because he started coming home later and saying he was at work. He started drinking a lot more and almost hit me. Once. It was only one time but I knew he would never hurt me. Although now that I think about it I never actually knew why he started coming home late. He never told me and I never asked. I guess I was just scared of what the outcome might be. It scared me just thinking about it. What could he have possibly been doing?
"Hey, baby," I looked up and saw Jughead standing there. I gave him a small smile. "What's wrong? What were you just thinking about?"
"Oh, it's nothing," I told him. He sighed and sat next to me.
"Come on. Tell me the truth. What's really going on." He asked.
"I started thinking about what happened two years ago," I told him. He shifted a little. I became confused but didn't show it. "I realized that I never figured out why you started coming home so late. Why did you come home so late? What were you doing?" He quickly stood up.
"Oh, come on? Does this really matter now? It's been two years. What good is it gonna be for you to know now." He started walking towards the door. I got up and followed him outside.
"Well, it was just a question. Why are you becoming so upset by it?" I asked him. He looked at me.
"I'm just getting upset. I'm just wondering why it's becoming such a big deal now?" He asked. I stayed quiet. "Besides, you're the one who has been sneaking around these last couple of months. What could you possibly be doing?" I looked down. "Is it really that bad that you can't tell me?"
"What? No! It's not bad... I just don't know how you'll react." I said softly.
"So it's bad," he said.
"Jug, that's not what I said. Why are you getting so upset? Please, I don't want to go through this again." I told him. For a second I thought he was gonna stay.
"Mama," I turned and saw Camila standing behind me. "What's going on?"
"Nothing, baby, go back inside." She walked back inside and I closed the door. By the time I looked back at him he was already on his motorcycle and went off. I sighed and leaned against the door. Why was it such a big deal? I quickly pulled out my phone and called the only person it felt like I could trust right now.
"Hello?"
"Hey, can you come over? I need someone to talk to,"
Sorry for such the long wait and short chapter. I've been having writers block.
