8 Days Until The Wedding
Veronica's POV

I woke up in Jughead's arms. He had fallen asleep, too. He brought me inside and he held me in his arms on the couch. I looked up at him and he was still asleep. I quickly stood up and walked to the door. I stopped and looked back at him. Should I just leave? Will I worry him? It would be better if I did. I opened the door and left. I started walking away from the trailer.

"Where are you going?" I heard him ask. I turned and saw him. It was quiet while we just looked at each other.

"I thought it would be better if I left before you woke up." I said quietly. He chuckled and started walking over to me. He stopped right in front of me. I just looked up at him.

"Why would you think that?" He asked calmly.

"You hating me." I mumbled.

"Why would I hate you?" He asked.

"Why wouldn't you after I snapped at you yesterday?" I said. He smiled and lightly laughed.

"You were guilty. You were with Xavier. Its okay." He said. I looked at him and smiled a little.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes! Come inside. Let me make you breakfast at least. Then you can go somewhere." He said. I sighed and smiled at him.

"It'll be against my better judgment, but okay. Fine!" I said and we walked back inside.

He made breakfast and we just sat there in silence. It wasn't really uncomfortable but it also was uncomfortable.

"So, where are you gonna go after you leave?" He asked.

"I'm not going back with them. At least not until I leave. I think I'm gonna go to Cheryl's and Toni's for the next couple of weeks." I told him.

"Oh. Well, what happened?" He asked. I sighed and looked down. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean--"

"No, it's fine. He cheated on me with... with Betty." I said.

"Oh, my god, Veronica. I'm so sorry. You don't deserve that." He said.

"No it's fine. Besides, I had you to keep me company and to calm me. Thank you for that." I said. He nodded and put his hand over mine. I couldn't help but smile.

"Anytime." He said. I just looked at our hands. He quickly pulled his hand away. I looked at him.

"I better go. I don't want to bother you anymore than I already have." I said getting up.

"No, you aren't bothering me at all." He said and got up, following me to the door.

"Well, I should just get going." I said. "Goodbye, Jughead." I then left.

The whole way to Cheryl's and Toni's all I could think about was when Jughesd put his hand on mine. When I got there, I knocked. About a minute later the door opened and Toni was there. I smiled her.

"Hi, Toni." I said quietly.

"Hey, Veronica!" She said happily. I just looked down. "Hey, what's wrong?" I shook my head.

"Nothing. Nothings wrong." I said.

"Veronica, I know somethings wrong what is it?" She asked.

"I just need somewhere to stay until I leave." I told her.

"Okay? Come in, but why?" She asked and shut the door.

"Not having a great time. I really don't want to talk about it right now." I told her and she nodded.

"Okay. I understand." She said.

"Toni, who's here?" Cheryl asked. "Oh hi, Veronica!"

"Hi." I said softly.

"Cheryl, Veronica will be staying with us for the next few weeks. She says she's not having a good time anywhere else or something." Toni said. Cheryl looked at me.

"Close enough." I said.

"Okay that's fine with me." Cheryl said and walked out if the room.

"She's very welcoming." I said and Toni just laughed.

As the day went on, all I could think about was Jughead and how he comforted me last night. And somehow convinced me not to leave and eat with him. I really enjoy being with him. I feel safe with him. I know he still loves me. And, maybe, I still love him. I thought my feelings for him were gone. But I guess it took me two years away from him, then coming back and seeing him again for me to realize, I still need him in my life.

The kids! I'm forgetting the kids. I quickly got up and walked towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Cheryl asked me.

"I forgot about my kids." I said and left.

When I got back it was quiet. I quickly went to go find my kids. I went to the room first to grabbed things. I walked to Sophia's room.

"Veronica? WhT are you doing here? Where did you go?" She asked, worriedly and walked over to me.

"I went places. Where are the kids?" I asked. She stayed quiet and looked down. I immediately became worried. "Sophia, where are they?"

"Xavier took them and left." She said. I sighed and could feel the tears.

"What do you mean he took them and left? Did he leave Riverdale?" I asked.

"I'm not sure what he did. He just took them and left. I don't know Where he's at. When Madelyn tried asking him where he was going you the kids he got pissed and slapped her." She said. I started crying and I left the room quickly. "Veronica, what are you doing?"

"I'm going to find my kids! I can't have them with that maniac." I said and pulled out my phone.

"Who are you calling?" She asked.

"Hello?"

"The kids are missing." I told him.

"What? What do you mean they're missing?" Jughead asked

"Well, they're with Xavier. I don't know where he's at. He just took them and left." I told him.

"Okay. Okay, call down. I'll be over there in a minute. Do you have any idea where he might be?" He asked.

"No. Nowhere in town. He doesn't know anywhere to go--" I trailed off.

"What?" He asked.

"I think I know where he is." I said and hung up the phone. I looked back at Sophia. "How soon am I able to get back to New York?"
