Veronica's POV

I waited in Pops for Sweet Pea to show up. I got here about ten minutes early just to figure what I'm doing. I left before Jughead woke up. I got around, checked on the kids, and left. I don't really know why I'm here. I know I said I was here to help him, but there is also so much we need to talk about.

The bell on the door chimed and I looked up. It was him. He saw me and walked over to me. He sighed as he sat across from me. I could tell he was nervous. I don't know if it's because he was talking with me again or about Betty being pregnant. It was quiet for a minute. Neither of us knew how to start the conversation. I sighed.

"Why exactly did you need my help?" I asked him.

"Well, what the hell am I supposed to do? I never thought that I would become a parent. I never even think about having kids at all." He said.

"Do you really want to be a part of the baby's life?"

"What? Of course, I do. It's my child. I want to be a part of its life."

"It? You don't know the gender yet?"

"She's trying to figure out if she wants to know yet. I don't really care what it is honestly." His saying that made me smile. "But I just want to know how you do it."

"Do what?"

"Take care of the two kids you have. I've never been around kids. I don't know what to do. I know I still have five months, but I'm scared."

"That makes sense. I mean, it's your kid. I was scared, too. So was Jughead. Any normal person would be." I told him. He sighed. I could see how scared he really was. I reached over and grabbed his hands. He quickly looked at me. "You'll be a great dad, I promise. If you'd like to maybe I could spend a day with you and bring Camila and Camdyn. Maybe You Should be around kids more." He chuckled.

"You would really do that just so I don't freak out when I have my kid?"

"Yeah. I mean, you'll still get scared when you have your kids. I mean, I got scared when I had Camdyn thinking I'll mess something up."

"Isn't he your youngest?"

"That's my point. You're always scared as a parent." I pulled my hands away. "It's really not as bad as it seems I promise. Getting scared is normal. Jughead had to calm me down once." He smiled.

If I'm being honest I kind of missed him. I mean, I know all the things he did while we were in high school, but I can't hold that against him forever. I mean, he's grown up. He seems happier now than he did then.

Suddenly my phone buzzed. I sighed and looked at it. It was Jughead asking where I am. I sighed and looked back at Sweet Pea.

"You have to go?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm sorry."

"Hey, it's no problem. But before you go, can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, sure,"

"Can we start over? Like, none of the things that happened between us, happened. It was all a mess and I don't think it matters anymore." I smiled.

"I'd like that. But what about Betty?"

"I'll talk to her, I promise. I know I've matured and I know she has, too, she just doesn't want to show it." I nodded.

"I believe you," my phone buzzed again and I sighed. "I'm sorry, I really have to go."

"Go ahead," He said and I left.

When I got back to the trailer I could tell Jughead was worried. As I walked through the door he immediately looked at me. He let out a sigh of relief.

"Where the hell were you?" He asked.

"I was just at Pops. I was meeting with somebody." I told him.

"Who?"

"Just an old friend. I'm trying to reach everybody again."

"Okay," he said. "I'm sorry, I was just worried. I just woke up and you were gone and I didn't have a text or anything."

"Oh, I'm sorry I worried you. I didn't mean to,"

"It's fine. Just tell me you're leaving next time, please." I nodded.

"Where are the kids?"

"They're in the back," I just smiled. "What?"

"Nothing, I'm just happy is all," He smiled, too.

"I love you,"

"I love you, too,"
