• the next day...
i walk into the living room to see maggie sitting on the couch. i sit next to her and see that her eyes are bright red.
"what's wrong?" i ask.
"brandon broke up with me." she laughs.
my face drops. "wait why?"
she shrugs her shoulders and fake smiles. "i have no clue."
i don't say anything. "he didn't say why, he didn't say anything, he just broke up with me."
i pull her closer. "im sorry maggie."
"it's okay."
"when did it happen?"
"last night at like ten, everyone was having fun so i didn't wanna say anything." she tells me.
i pout and rub her head. "are you okay?"
"no, but i will be."
we both pull away and i look at her. "maybe it's for the best?"
"yeah, maybe." she says sadly. "i really love him though."
"i know." i say quietly. "are you hungry? i can make you something to eat."
im not good at comforting people at all. i always feel like ill say the wrong things.
"yeah that would be nice." maggie smiles at me. "can you keep this between me and you for a little bit? i just don't want everyone to know right now."
"okay." i smile back at her.
i get up and start making food for everybody in the house.
we leave hawaii tomorrow and im a little sad but we had a good time. there weren't any arguments, or drama, just pure enjoyment until today obviously.
