Heavy breathing could be heard coming from the room as two people circle one another. Their chests were heaving as sweat beaded on their foreheads, eyes locked on each other. They took slow, careful steps like two wolves locked in battle, each waiting for the other to attack. The tension in the room was palpable as their eyes glowed with intensity.
They lunged at one another, falling into a deadly dance of strikes and kicks. Loud slaps and grunts resonated in the room as they attacked.
They didn't even notice the sound of a door opening or footsteps walking down the stairs, too focused on each other to pay attention to a new comer.
The new boy watched as the pair slid around the floor, swiftly avoiding hits and trying to land strikes of their own with precise and practiced moves. The boy on the floor was strong. Much larger than his opponent and was using his reach to his advantage. But the girl was faster. Her reflexes razor sharp as she hopped around the floor.
From the doorway, the boy smirked as he watched the small girl pin her much larger opponent, kicking him to the ground with a thud. He watched the girl roll off the boy, allowing him to sit up as the caught their breathes.
"Minji! Sungchan! You've been down here since dawn, it's time to get ready."
The two of them turned to look at the doorway, letting out deep sighs and nodding their heads.
"Got it, Taeyong. We'll be up in a second." The girl called back, waving off the older boy.
Taeyong dipped his head to the two, turning around and walking up the stairs. The pair waited until they heard the door close before speaking again.
"We should just cut school." Sungchan said to her. "That place is literal hell."
"You're not wrong there." Minji replied, standing and offering him her hand. "But I don't feel like having Taeyong up our asses for the rest of the day."
"Fair enough."
With a shrug, the two grabbed their bottles and towels then turned to exit the room. Minji dipped her head to the older members, seeing them gathered around the table and conversing quietly as she made her way up to her room.
After taking a quick shower, she searched her closet for something to wear. She decided on some simple ripped jeans and a flowy black crop top. After slipping her knives into her combat boots and putting on some makeup, she slung her leather bag over her shoulder and walked out of the room.
"Morning, sunshine." Taeyong said as she strode into the kitchen. "More early training sessions?"
"You know me," She replied with a nod. "training is all I ever do."
"Don't push yourself too hard." He said as they shared a knowing look. "Here, made you your coffee."
She smiled at the older boy as he slid a cup to her across the table.
"Two sugars?"
"And a splash of cream."
"Excellent, thank you." She said happily as she sipped on the drink, the energy already flowing back into her body. "Feeling better already."
"Yeah yeah, you're only 19 and coffee basically runs through your veins. That's probably not healthy."
"Too late now." She shrugged as he tossed a her keys to her.
"Don't be late for school. I'll tell those idiots to hurry up."
"What idiots?"
They turned to see Sungchan and Jeno walk into the room, followed closely by Jaemin, Yangyang, and Jisung.
"You idiots." The leader replied with a chuckle, tossing a set of keys to Jaemin as well. "Drive safe. Both of you."
The both nodded to their leader as he left the room.
"See you guys after school." She said to Jaemin, Yangyang, and Jisung. "Try not to kill anyone on your drive."
"Please, we'll be fine. We were the smart ones who chose to go to the closer University." Jaemin replied, ruffling her hair as he passed. "Plus, I'm a great driver."
"Mmhmm sure you are." She said as Jaemin walked into the garage, smiling at Jisung as he passed her.
"Save me." The young boy whispered, causing her to laugh before shoving him towards the garage.
"Let's get going too." She said to Sungchan and Jeno, grabbing her coffee and heading to her car.
"Ready to see your favorite person?" Sungchan said mockingly as he slid into the passenger seat.
"Don't even remind me." She sighed, staring the car. "School wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for that asshole always picking a fight with me."
"That whole gang just annoys me. He's just the worst of them." Jeno muttered as they pulled away from the house.
"The others aren't any worse than any of our other rivals." She shrugged. "It's just that one. What I'd do to have the chance to stab him just once."
All three of them laughed as they drove down the highway and pulled into the parking lot, some familiar figures waiting for them out front.
"Great. Already starting off the day bad." She groaned as she pulled into a parking spot.
Minji slammed her door shut, locking the car as the three of them approached the front gates. She rolled her eyes as they were approached by three other boys, the one in the front glaring at her.
"What do you want, Haechan?"
Time for another mafia story! Also I'll be updating this book every other day since my school is ending and I'm going to be a bit busy, but I hope you'll enjoy the story!
