"Alright then, I guess I'm going first." He sighed, resting back in his chair. "I feel like my life story is pretty boring compared to most gang members, I don't really have a tragic past to be honest."

"Then why join a gang?" She questioned. "Why give up a peaceful life for violence?"

"If I had an answer to that question, I'd tell you. I'm still trying to figure it out, honestly." He shrugged. "I've known Ten and Yuta since I was little. I didn't really know they were in a gang, but we hung out a lot and soon I was introduced to all the guys. We got really close so when they offered to start training me, I figured why not. Eventually training led to a mission led to me joining."

"So you just kinda... fell into it naturally?"

"Yeah, I'm one of the few lucky ones. It just made sense to stay with the guys who had become family to me. We protect one another, fight for each other, it was nice." He said with a smile. "It's become like a drug to me, I swear I'm addicted to training, it's like... I feel like... I don't know it's...."

"Like you finally have control over something?" She finished for him.

"Yeah." He nodded with a smile. "Yeah it's like I can't control the world around me, I can control myself. Training makes me feel like I'm doing something, and getting better, and like the world just pauses for a moment."

"I feel that." She said with a nod. "What your family?"

"They're cool with it. I still go see them sometimes. They were really worried when I first joined but now they've just learned to accept it. They trust the guys to keep me safe, keep eachother safe, so it works out."

"That's really nice." She mumbled. "I think this might've been the first real conversation we've ever had."

"I think you might be right." He laughed out, nodding along with her. "So what's your story then?"

She cocked an eyebrow at him, staring at him with a curiously playful smirk, her lips tightly shut.

"Oh come on, I told you mine. Now it's your turn."

She sighed, putting down her drink and leaning back into her chair.

"Just trying to stay alive." She shrugged, causing him to let out a groan.

"Don't give me that bullshit, how did you join the gang? What's up with you family? Things like that." He said playfully. "I know you have a story."

"And why do you think that?"

"Because... you can't be this reckless without a reason." She stared at him, gulping nervously as the smirk slowly dropped from her face. "You throw yourself in front of knives, run in front of bullets... it's like you don't even care about your life or body. I don't know if it's stupid or selfless, but there's got to be a reason you do it."

They stared at one another, Haechan immediately taking note of her rigid posture. Her eyes were dark, painful, he had obviously struck a chord with her.

"I think there's been enough storytelling for one day." She said, clearing her throat and blinking away the look in her eyes. "That's for another time."

"You said we'd talk. You lied to me."

"We did talk. I never said what about." She sighed, seeing the dejected frown on his face. "Look, I don't lie, but I do have a lot of secrets. What you're getting at is one secret that only 2 people in my life know about and that's only because they lived it with me."
