Things were going well and over the course of the next three days, she eventually got to everyone except Haechan. She'd experienced some of the most intense pain she'd felt in a while, but it was worth it as her memories came flooding back, one by one.
They'd had to do some experimenting though and were quickly able to figure out that the more memories connected to a member, the farther they had to push her to trigger her to remember.
Renjun and Taeil took the longest as she'd spent time with Renjun in school, and Taeil had done a lot of care for her. As much as it killed them to hurt her, that's what it took for her to remember.
Taeil busted her lip and made her nose bleed, seriously concerning the other members, but Jaemin and Jeno didn't intervene. And they were right. After the horrifying crack of his fist against her face echoed throughout the room, she doubled over as usual, crying out in pain before bolting upright with a smile.
Renjun was even worse. It got so bad as needing to give him a weapon. He ended up having to cut up her arms a bit, Jaehyun and Johnny having to restrain Haechan from killing the young Chinese boy while he yelled at Jaemin or Jeno to step in.
As the blood ran down her arm and she finally caught sight of it, she felt pain rocket through her head and suddenly she had her memory back.
The only person missing was now Haechan. He was like a blank spot in her memory. She'd remember someone walking in school with Chenle and Renjun but she just couldn't picture him or what they said to one another.
It was disappointing for the young boy to say the least, but the members agreed that they'd need to push Minji the farthest to remember him, and that they wanted to give her time to heal before they even tried.
That's how they ended up here, back in the training room the following week, Haechan with a knife in hand and Jaemin and Jeno waiting by on the floor.
All the members were waiting anxiously, Taeyong pacing back and fourth, when the door slid open and Minji walked in, escorted by Sungchan.
"You ready for this, Min?" The tall boy whispered to her.
"Yeah. I'm ready." She replied with a nod.
"This could get really dangerous but Jaemin and Jeno will be on the floor, and I'll be watching from up here. We'll step in before things can get too bad." He said, giving her a hug.
"I've been shot, stabbed, almost blown up by Yangyang multiple times, I'll be fine, Sung. Don't worry about me." She said with a laugh before stepping onto the mat with Taeyong.
Haechan shifted nervously, uncomfortably gripping onto the knife in his hand. As he stared at her approaching figure, he gulped, unsure if he'd actually be able to hurt her.
"Stop stressing." Jeno said, seeing his nerves. "You have to do this."
"I know, I just don't know what I'll do if I hurt her." He mumbled back.
"Don't worry about that, Haechan. Jeno and I will be on the floor to help out," Jaemin said reassuringly. "We've been training with her for almost as long as Sungchan has."
"They know her fighting patterns, and she trusts them. They'll intervene if necessary." Taeyong said, catching wind of the conversation.
