Chapter 14 | "risk everything"

As he headed down the hallway, Haechan could hear a chorus of voices coming from the medical room.

"Are you sure you don't need anything?"

"Maybe another pillow? I'll go get you another pillow."

"Or something to drink? I can go and make you coffee."

"You guys, I'm okay, seriously I-"

"Are you hungry? Do you want some food?"

"How's your cut? I can tell Shotaro to change the bandage if you want."

Haechan turned into the room with an amused smirk on his face. There was a small crowd around Minji's bed, Jaehyun, Sungchan, Jeno, and Jaemin all fussing over her. She just sat there with a small smile on her face trying to calm them down.

"Guys! I'm fine, please relax." She called out, cutting off their worried mutters. "You guys have stuff to do, don't worry about me."

"But are you sure you don't need anything?" Jaemin asked as they all stood up.

"Jesus, you guys might as well volunteer to breathe for her." Haechan said, rolling his eyes as he leaned on the door frame with an amused smirk. "Chill out a bit."

"Says the guy who almost got her killed." Jeno growled, taking a step towards the boy.

Minji grabbed his arm to stop him, the anger instantly fading from his gaze as he smiled at her.

"To what do I owe this lovely surprise?" She asked the boy, an amused smirk on her face.

"Don't get smart with me, Baek, I'm just here because Taeyong sent me to grab the guys for school." He said, motioning to Sungchan, Jeno, and Jaemin. "We have to leave."

"I'll go over everything you missed when I get back. See you soon." Sungchan said with a smile before the three boys left the room, Jaehyun following them out.

"Try not to miss me too much." Haechan said with a smirk, causing her to roll her eyes.

"Are you kidding? It'll nice to finally have a day without Haechan the walking headache following me around." She chuckled.

"Yeah whatever, loser. Have fun sitting on your ass all day."

"Have fun at school with no one to bully."

The two of them shared an amused glare before he left the room. Minji sighed to herself, her body still sore and exhausted from all the stress she's been under the past few days, her eyelids dropping shut as she fell back asleep.

Over the course of the next week, Minji began to heal. She was permitted to walk around the house, but still not allowed to go to school or train yet, as her body was still sore and exhausted.

"Is she asleep yet?" Taeyong asked as Taeil joined the rest of the boys in the main room.

"Yeah, Shotaro is with her." The older boy replied with a nod.

"Good. We need to act before she recovers, I don't want her to have any part of this." He said gravely, pulling up a mission plan. "We're going to attack Stray Kids tonight."

"Are you sure that's a good idea, Taeyong?" Jaehyun questioned. "We need to be careful here, and we won't even have Minji with us to help out."

"That's the point." The leader replied. "We'll be gone and back before she even knows it, I don't want her getting hurt anymore."

He surveyed the room, seeing the rest of the gang nodding in agreement.

"Okay then. Shotaro will stay here with Jisung and Chenle. The three of them will help direct us. Weve sent a map and mission instructions to each of you, read it on the car ride and use your ear piece for any questions. We leave in five."
