Things went somewhat smoothly for the rest of the weekend, the groups slowly getting to know one another. Minji ended up speaking with almost all of them and they were actually pretty cool, except Haechan who she was avoiding like the plague.
"Min, you're taking all the kids to school today."
"What? Taeyong I can't drive all of them. My car isn't that big." Minji whined as she followed the leader into the kitchen, Sungchan and Jeno trailing behind her.
"Put them in the trunk."
"Taeyong please~"
"Whining about driving?" Johnny asked as he strolled into the room, seeing all the younger members nod their heads. "Well you're in luck, Hendery is fixing your SUV so you'll have to split up and take the sports cars." He said, tossing her a few keys.
She quickly handed one each to Jeno and Sungchan, tossing Jaemin his keys as Yangyang and Jisung followed him out to the garage. Minji turned to follow before Taeyong gripped her arm.
"Ah wait." Taeyong spun her around. "Each of you take one of the newbies. Their cars aren't here yet, we're bringing them over today."
Minji just rolled her eyes, Haechan glaring at her as he walked into the room with Renjun and Chenle. She smirked when she saw the bandage in his arm, but quickly wiped the expression off her face when she saw Taeyong's stern look.
"Okay fine." She groaned out. "You. Chenle. You're riding with me. Let's go."
She turned on her heel as she saw the boy break into a large smile and follow her cheerily out the door. They approached the black sports car and slid into their seats.
"See you guys there!" She called to her friends as she slammed the door shut.
"Hi!" She jumped in shock when she saw Chenle smiling brightly at her. "I'm Chenle! We haven't had the chance to talk yet, but that's okay. It's nice to meet you!"
Jesus this kid is loud. She thought to herself as she let out a sigh and plastered a smile on her face, shaking his hand.
"Hi Chenle, I'm Minji. It's nice to meet you too."
She felt him staring at her as she pulled out of the garage.
"What's wrong kid? Why are you staring at me?" She asked with an amused smile.
"Nothing, it's just weird seeing you smile." She flashed him a confused look. "I mean, every time I've seen you, you've been bickering with Haechan."
"He does have a way of getting under my skin." She chuckled out. "I don't know how you deal with him."
"You'll get used to him. He's actually really funny and nice once he warms up to you." Chenle said with a hum.
"I don't think he'll be warming up to me anytime soon." She mumbled. "He hates my guts."
"Yeah, you're not wrong." The younger boy chuckled. "He likes picking fights and you're the unlucky target."
"Unlucky is right."
"But, I will tell you one thing." He said with a mischievous smile. "He has a sore spot on his back, right below his left shoulder blade. If you press on it, he'll be on the ground in seconds. It's how I keep him away from my stuff."
Minji smiled, turning to look at Chenle with an approving nod.
"You know what, kid? I like you. I think we're gonna be good friends."

"Wow she didn't kill you? I'm impressed."
"Fuck off, Lee." She replied as she slammed her car door shut, waiting for Chenle to get out before locking it. "I'm actually decently nice, but you just have a way of irking my soul."
"Aw well aren't you just such a good person." He cooed sarcastically.
"Better than you." She sneered, going to stand with her friends.
"Oh sweetheart, we're both going to hell and you know that."
"And do I look like I care? You're very presence makes my life a living hell so I'm well experienced already." She said, rolling her eyes.
"Glad to know I'm doing my job well."
After sharing sarcastic smiles, the two turned and walked away from one another.
"How the hell does Taeyong expect us to work with him? He's a total asshole." Sungchan asked as they walked towards the building. "Even in the car, he wouldn't shut up."
"I don't know, Sungie. I'll be fine if he can keep the smart comments to himself." She mumbled out.
"I don't think that's gonna happen. And we both know you're too stubborn to not snap back." The tall boy laughed out.
"Yeah yeah, whatever."
Just as they approached the school building, something caught her eye. She paused, trying to get a closer look at what was happening on the far end of the school yard.
"Hey Sungie, is that....?"
He turned to see where she was looking and shrugged.
"Just some poor kid getting picked on, I guess. Come on we've got bigger issues than some dumb bullies. Let's go." He grabbed her hand and dragged her into the building, a bad feeling lingering in her chest.

"Hey guys, how's your test go?" Jeno asked as Minji and Sungchan sat down at their usually table for their free period.
"Not too bad." She replied with a sigh.
"Says you. That was hell."
"Well if you actually studied with me instead of zoning out in the library for 5 hours, maybe it would've been easier."
"Yeah yeah note taken, I'll actually study from now on. Taeyong will kill me if I get another bad grade. Hell, my parents might even roll up to our house and beat my ass." He laughed out. "How was your day so far, Jeno?"
The boy didn't respond, staring at something through the cafeteria windows.
"Jeno?"
"What's going on outside? Do you guys see that?" Minji and Sungchan turned their heads to where Jeno was looking, seeing a crowd forming in the quad.
"Seems like there's some trouble." Jeno said as the crowd grew, the three of them sharing a knowing smile.
"Sounds like the perfect place for us to be. Let's go."
